@alreadyawife:  I’ve read a lot of positive things about sizing beads on here, but they didn’t work out for me. My ring was less than a quarter size too big, and the sizing beads in my case were huge. I forced it on and off my finger once, and it left a mark, it was way too small. But I thought it was uncomfortable on my pinky as well, where it was clearly too loose. I got the balls taken out and had my ring sized down just a tiny bit and now it’s perfect, I can’t even tell by looking at it that it was resized. It still spins a tiny bit, but I can get it over my knuckle with just the right amount of effort, and rings spin less when they’re next to other rings, so I’m looking forward to wearing a wedding band too.

@alreadyawife:  Yes I can’t say enough good things about them! It does take like a week to get used to them but they are wonderful! It gives your finger room to swell and when your fingers shrink from cold or whatever it stays put! I also like that the sit towards the side so it is stable and doesn’t spin at all!

I love the sizing beads! They usually size the ring up if you’re getting larger beads. We had mine sized up only 1/4 size  but they typically do half size. The beads are great they bring the size down by about 1/2-1 size but have the room of the larger size to get your fingers out when they swell. I never noticed mine and I love them. My ering stays in place better than my much smaller wedding bands especially now that it is getting colder.

I have them too and they’ve been great. I think that if they are the correct size, they shouldn’t be uncomfortable. A jeweler can adjust them if needed.

I got them put on my ring because of it being too big, in my case they didn’t make the beads quite large enough, with that being said they still do prevent my ring from spinning on my finger pretty well. The only time it spins badly is when I am outside in the cold or in the freezer section at the store! 🙂 I even do yoga with my ring on and they do not bother me.

I found them to be quite uncomfortable. I always felt them digging in. But some gals love them.

I have sizing beads in mine and I don’t feel them at all…they don’t make it uncomfortable and I forget they are there. Because my knuckles are so big and my actual finger size is so small my ring still spins even with the sizing beads in…but not as much as it did before.

I absolutely love my sizing beads. They work perfectly to keep my ring from spinning and the size is perfect.  The picture does not do it justice.  This way of sizing keeps the ring from losing the stones by having to be cut.

In lieu of bead, you can ask for speed-bumps — which some find more comforable. My mom has large knuckes and uses this in some of her rings. But, if the ring has  comfort fit vs. flat inside or is very narrow, there is not a lot of metal to create resistence from spinning. So, your mileage may vary.

My ring is too big and it spins. A rubber band offers a temporary solution but it very uncomfortable and looks awful. This has been a very informative post!

Wanted to unearth this thread to ask a few more questions about spinning. My knuckles are much bigger than my fingers and getting my ring over them can be tough, but I feel that sizing beads or speed bumps would make it impossible for me to get my ring on and off. I ordered a 1mm spacer band to try with it to see if wearing another ring with it helps. Any other tips?

This is an older thread but it was super helpful for my decision to get the sizing beads. Returning the favor! 🙂

I live in AZ and my hands swell. However I got my Ering in the winter. I got the sizing beads to help with spinning and to decrease the size until summer time. I’m between a 7.25 and 6.75.

Anyways, I really like them! They keep my ring from spinning and decreased the size perfectly. Like others, I noticed the beads for a few days but now I don’t feel them at all! They keep my ring in place and bring piece of mind. I also like that they can be taken out as needed. Sizing your ring too many times can weaken the metal. I was told this is the best option.
