I just bought a Sizzix machine on sale at Michaels and I was wondering who on here has actually used a Sizzix embossing machine. (I haven’t seen really any posts about Sizzix specifically) I have the one that looks like a purse, very inexepensive, that just does embossing. (Texture Boutique is the name) Before I open it I would love to hear some feedback from anyone who has tried it out and used it on invitations/save the dates. I’m not a huge fan of the texture plates Sizzix offers so does anyone know if you’re able to order custom plates? I didn’t find any information on their site about it. Also, I’m looking for something I can use ink on and emboss at the same time so I can raise the text on cards. Any suggestions? Should I invest in something else? I’m dying to open it and play with it but not until I know it’s worth the $. 🙂
To give you an idea of what I’m looking to use it for: we’re having a classic, simple, black tie wedding so I’m not looking for something like the Gocco for elaborate prints (which are gorgeous btw!!!), rather something that can create simple textures or a single textured printed monogram. I’m trying to avoid using a professional printer to save money but if you think that would be more economical then by all means, feel free to suggest links.
I’m not a big scrapbooker but I really enjoy making stationary and cards for family and friends so I do plan to use this machine after the wedding.
Thank you! 🙂
