I can’t decide if I’m going to do this or not, but I was watching Father of the Bride and when it got to the part where it shows her with her white sneakers under her dress, I thought to myself that’s a great idea and very much me. I’m almost always in a pair of sneakers or sandals – I hardly ever wear heels.
If I were to do athletic shoes under my dress, this is the pair I’d get. (I’m a Skechers fanatic)
I told my bridesmaids I was going to get those, and they thought I was nuts. Is it really that weird? They’d be super comfy, and my dress will be long enough no one will see my shoes anyway..

That’s my favorite movie! I kind of wish I had worn sneakers under my dress, especially when my photographer had us walking around the grounds of a museum for pictures.

@Mulan05: People wear crazy non-matching shoes all the time. If this is you, why not? Less likely for you to trip also ;D Would you want them in pictures? Photographers like shoe pictures 😛 Or maybe you can have a heel for the ceremony and Skechers for the reception?

@strawbabies: It’s one of my favourite movies too. 🙂 It’s funny you mention walking around the grounds of a museum, because we’re having our ceremonyreception at a museum!
@yanamari: I don’t think I’d mind if they were in pictures or weren’t. It is something to think about though. I will definitely wear them around the reception.. but maybe I will get a different pair of shoes for the ceremony. I’d probably get sandals with a very low heel – I’m just not into heels too much.

Maybe you could wear something more appropriate for a wedding dress for the ceremony and pictures and first dance and switch into these for the rest of the reception? Lots of brides switch to ballet flats or sandals, so why not sneakies?
