ladysugarbear:  I feel you on not wanting to believe the hype about the clarisonic. But honestly scrubs are typically very harsh on your skin. My usuall tip for people who are on the fence is to try one of the drugstore level brushes like the Olay and if you love it th upgrade bc it’s DEF worth it.

headshot 2ladysugarbear:  You have received a lot of great advice.  Let me chime in with my .02cents, try a natural weekly mask.  I mixed organic rice flour with organic coconut milk.  Make it like a paste, let it sit on your face for 30 minutes.  It will leave your skin silky soft and clean out your pores.  I love it, during the Winter my face gets dry from the cold, so I give myself this facial mask twice a week.  By The Way, I’m 55yrs old

ladysugarbear:  Recently, I have been using ultrabland by Lush. It smells a little funky, and is different than many cleansers (its waxy because of oils and beeswax). You put it on your skin, rub it in, and use a warm, damp wash cloth to wipe it away. i was terrified of it at first, but now that ive been using it for two weeks I can say HOLY CRAP IT WORKS.  My skin doesnt have nearly as many oily zones, my weird dry patch on my chin is nearly gone, my pores look clean, and best of all, they use fresh ingredients and less chemicals than other brands.

I love, love, love obagi products but they are super pricey. Also, this is odd but something that really made a difference in my skin is only washing my face with white wash clothes. I only use them once and bleach in the wash.

My daily facial regimen consists of first an exfoliating facial scrub, after rinsing I wash my face with African black soap, rinse and then apply Nubian heritage Shea butter lotion. since it is getting closer to my wedding, I’m watching what I eat too to avoid break out like sweets, and chocolate.

Goodluck on on finding a regimen that works for you.

ladysugarbear:  I use Clean & Clear.  My dermatologist recommended it because I have very sensitive skin and have lots of keloids that were pimples.  It has helped tremendously.  That and I drink lemon water all the time.
