I’m totally clueless when it comes to skin care for my body and face.
What should I be doing? My skin isn’t usually too try (except some dry skin around my nose) and my nose is the only part that can get a bit oily during the day, but nothing too noticeable.
What should I be doing for good skin care? What products? I’m talking washing, exfoliating, etc. What is the “protocol” Can anyone offer suggestions? Or send me in a good direction?
Honeslty, I have good skin, but a few blackheads on my nose/chin I’d like to get rid of…but I generally don’t wash my face too much and I don’t breakout…I just have no idea of how to properly care for the skin on my body besides drinking water (which I do!)

I have really good skin so I just invest in a good face wash. My current favorite is Angels on Bare skin by LUSH cosmetics (you can check out their site). All of their products are organic, and made with natural materials.

I’d say wash morning and evening with something gentle. I love cetaphil and philosphy purity. Then use a basic moisturizer, with SPF during the day. Again cetaphil is amazing. Try to exfoliate once a week by mixing some sea salt in with your face wash.
You don’t need anything too complicated!

First, GO YOU for awesome skin!! As someone who has skin that breaks out if I look cross-eyed in the mirror, I’m a bit envious Anywho, I have been using Murad products for the past few months and they have been AMAZING for my skin! I used to have at least 12 or more blemishes at a time (yes, still at 29!) but now I have maybe one or two and they heal much faster.
I use the clarifying cleanser and the pomegranate exfoliating face wash for washing my face. I use a pretty good amount of their acne specific products too, but you won’t need those with your lovely skin girl! Some of their products can be a bit pricey but a little bit goes a LONG way! I’ve had the same tube of clarifying cleanser since March and I wash my face sometimes twice a day and there’s still half the tube left. Plus if you look at skinstore.com you can use a 15%-20% off coupon for their products. If you order from their website they do have a guarantee for returns if you don’t like something. Good luck!

Sounds like your skin is kinda like mine 🙂 I stick to tried and true products that my mother used growing up. For my face wash I use your basic St. Ives Apricot Scrub, and follow it up with Clinique Clarifying Lotion, which is basically the most awesome toner I’ve ever used. Finish it off with Clinique moisturizer with SPF and I’m done!

Can I suggest you check out skincaretalk.com? Its all about skin and that forum has seriously saved my skin and my confidence.
I would suggest cerave face wash, and cerave cream. Those products are amaaazing! And a mircrofibre cloth to exfoliate gently which you could do daily if you are wearing suncreen with zinc in it. Its a bugger to get off.
AND extremely affordable!!! Don’t waste money on products that are expensive, it does NOT mean they are better than a $10 moisturizer.

Without knowing what type of skin you have, I’d say get a gentle cleanser with high-quality ingredients, wash morning and night, moisturize when your face is still damp, use sunscreen, and only exfoliate 2-3 times a week. DO NOT USE a cleanser like St. Ives Apricot scrub (no offense, pp)–the granules in that will tear your skin apart. Find one with beads that will exfoliate but don’t have sharp edges. Cerave has parabens in it, which have been proven to be carcinogenic–it’s a preservative, but companies can use vitamin E instead.
I have dry, acne-prone skin, so I use benzoyl peroxide cleanser, massage it into my wet skin and remove with a washcloth, then moisturize when my face is still damp. I do not use a toner because my skin is dry–I used to until my new (miracle) skincare lady told me that I’m more likely causing my breakouts by doing that. I can’t recommend products only because we have different skin types and I use products made by my facialist.

This is a stupid question – what is a toner? I’m totally lame with skin stuff…
So basically, gentle cleanser 2x a day, followed with moisturizer (SPF) for day, and exfoliate a couple of times a week?
Also, what does everyone use for anti-aging? I was using philosophy products but haven’t had great follow through…

I use philosphy purity as a wash, then the miracle eye cream, followed by the miracle anti aging moisturizer. Kinda pricey, but I’m 28 and get asked for ID any and every time I purchase alcohol, so it seems to be worth it.
