chigirl217bride :  I’m not an aesthetician so take everything that I say with a grain of salt but it looks like you’re over exfoliating (too much use of glycolic acid) and using some products that would strip your skin of its natural oils (like the foaming face wash). I have a similar skin type, somewhat oily and acne prone, and I’ve learned that less is more. In the morning I use a gentle enzyme exfoliator (it exfoliates really well but isn’t harsh so you could use it multiple times a day, Tatcha) then cleanser (Sunday Riley), and then moisturize with a dry oil (Sunday Riley UFO). At night I use an oil cleanser (Boscia) that removes makeup and a retinol oil (I’m assuming we both use Sunday Riley because there aren’t that many out there). I use a vitamin c peel (Korres) once or twice a week. I also keep up with my water intake and take a few supplements (A good quality fish oil, vitamin E, probiotics) that I swear helped the way my skin looks.

My aesthetician says that all brides should stay completely away from dairy to get that glow weeks before the wedding. Also, skin needling has done wonders for my skin. And Murad skin repair is a gift from the Gods. Your skin will thank you.

And if you want to ‘slough off’ the top layer of skin…retinol is the way to go (or a skin needling treatment based on your budget).

chigirl217bride :  I’m the same age and have such similar experience with my skin that I feel like I know what you’re going through. Like I would move my face and a line would linger a little too long and would freak me out. For exfoliation I use Tatcha Polished Deep Rice Enzyme Powder and I’m obsessed. Amore Pacific has one too that works the same but it was too scented for me. I mostly use Sunday Riley products, the UFO oil is perfect for oily skin, and Good Genes makes your skin so bright. Omorovicza makes a copper peel that is expensive but perfect for special occasions. Same with the Fresh Black Tea Perfecting Mask which I’ll throw on after a peel, seriously amazing. I definitely think you should head to the Sephora skincare section and have them make you a few samples of some of these

chigirl217bride :  The UFO is so perfect! It absorbs so much better than any oil I’ve used. I prefer to moisturizer with oil but most just kind of sit there.

For a gentler exfoliant that’s ok to use every day try Eminence Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant. It’s amazing and all natural, but does an amazing job 🙂

chigirl217bride :  No, I wouldnt dare do my own skin needling. I have had two appointments and my skin is now officially amazing. I can ask my aesthetician what size needle she uses though.  It only costs me 100 bucks per treatment.

chigirl217bride :  um, not sure what you mean by non-std cold sores.  Cold sores are caused by hsv-1 virus, which isn’t exactly a std.  They flare up when you’re under stress.  You can get a prescription to prevent them from forming.   If you mean cracks in the corners of your lip, that’s usually from a vitamin deficiency.  Take a multivitamin to help.
