I’m currently taking Cilest, I’ve tried takeing it back to back previously to skip a period but had spotting that was almost as heavy as a normal period, so this isn’t looking to be a good option but i’m getting amrried in 9 weeks, and it works out that I will be smack bang in the middle of my period on my wedding day!
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to bring it forward a week or two? has this worked for you in the past or should i just grin and bare it?
Thanks girls! x

Our wedding isn’t until June, but I was trying to offset my cycle now, in case I needed another try at it. I’m taking Loestrin, and so far, so good. I’m a week into the extra pack.
Were you consistent with taking your pill at the exact same time? I noticed that was a problem for me when I was trying to skip a cycle a few years back. I had to really watch the timing of taking my medicine.
You could also call your doctor or OB/GYN if you have one. They may be able to give you some better advice.

I was on loestrin when I got married, and tried to skip my period, but I still had some spotting even though I took my pill at the same time every day. It depends on the person and the pill. I wonder if you could try a different brand.

I’m assuming that the pills you’re on are a 28 day cycle with 21 days of sugar pills then 7 days of placebos. If so, you should have a period coming up in a few weeks but before your wedding. If you skip your next period (the one before the wedding), then that should move your other period up (the one expected during your wedding) by a week. You’ll still have spotting with the one before your wedding, but shouldn’t have anything during your wedding….

If you still have 9 weeks try to adjust your next cycle instead of skipping during your wedding. I tried to skip the week on my gyn’s advice, and ended up spotted heavily – I probably should have just tried to force it a week early rather than try to skip it.

So this is probably terrible advice as far as your health goes lol… but what I have always done if my body and my social life dont line up is stop taking the birth control a week early so that i can be done and over with my period before whatever event is taking place (vacations, formals ect). then I feel even better and dont have pms for weeks on end a spoting..
ps- i also back up my BC with condoms just incase while this is going on.. and start the new cycle of birthcontrol right away.. as in one cycle will be a three week bc cycle and the next one will start just as soon as my periods finished,

Try to cut the pills early so you’ll bleed before the wedding and hopefully be done by the wedding day.
You can also cut the pills now so you’ll be on schedule the month before the wedding, just to make sure the hormones don’t mess with your mood.

@Coffee cup: I agree that since you are spotting, you might just want to not take the last week of active pills. You need to follow the instructions for the next package to make sure you are fully protected from pregnancy though!

right, firstly THANK YOU! I think i’m decided on moving it to a week early, BUT i have no idea how to go about it. I am taking cilest which i take for 3 weeks and then have a week off. I am currently on my 3rd day of my period however I am still taking the pill as i was attempting to skip the bleeds before the wedding. So, if i want to make it so that now i come on a week before, how do i do that and how should i be taking the medication from now onwards. I have spoken to my GP but he is a man firstly, and seconly just tole me to take it as normal and hope it doesnt happen to fall on my wedding day… NOT helpful! so i’m VERY confused and dont even know where to begin to work it out!!!
