My fiancé and I are definitely skipping the processional entirely. We’re having a totally cocktail-style party from beginning to end, including having guests mingle with each other and with us for about 15 minutes before the ceremony begins. At that time everyone, including our bridal party, will simply gather around us and the Rabbi to watch the short ceremony. We’re very excited for this decision, and have had very few naysayer reactions to our distinctly unconventional approach. The only complication I see is that I’d still like to have my father symbolically give me away, a logistic we haven’t figured out just yet, but we’re looking forward to our casual, unique, distinctly “us” ceremony.
Anyone else skipping the processional/aisle/recessional all together? Have you had any problematic reactions or come across any hitches along the way (that perhaps we haven’t thought of)?
