My mom always wears slacks to weddings and I always see other women wearing slacks as well. I find it strange that some people are really pushing for a dress…
As long as they are in fact slacks (and not leggings) and you top them off with an appropriate blouse and shoes (which it sounds like you are doing) I think they will be just fine.

I don’t think stretchy shiny slacks are wedding appropriate. Get a pair that would be appropriate for a job interview and pair it with a dressy blouse and matching heels.

hello everyone. No, they are definitely not the regular black pair of leggings girls wear daily. How I described it might not be the best way. It has straight leg pants but fitted. The material is thicker with a little bit of shininess when the light hits (not super shinny) so the look of the pants make them appear like slacks BUT the slacks have an elastic waist so not sure if that is starting to make me “group it under leggings” (I wish I had a photo here). After reading your responses, I’m starting to consider wearing a dress with thick hoses or tights underneath.

I’ve got several pairs of dress slacks that have elastic waist that can be worn to black tie events, so the elastic waist is not an issue for me. (fwiw) It’s the fitted leg that might be at issue. How fitted? How close to the leg? Does it drape? How so? etc.
But when in doubt, leave out anything that seems “iffy.”
Just my $0.02.

It’s not 1910 anymore. Slacks are fine. I’m sure you will look nice and I didn’t take your description to mean leggings. I think tights under a dress screams casual.
