I have my wedding gown: Maggie Sottero Serenity. The gown is dark ivory (or light gold, whichever you prefer). There is some tulle work in the bottom.
As I am marrying in the Catholic church, I need to have my shoulders covered. I do not want a stole, or a bolero. I am thinking of making cap sleeves and just attach them for the day.
Any ladies have had to do that before? Or can you please give me ideas? I am at a loss here… I want to see some photos. A bolero will definitely take AWAY from the dress. Plus it’ll be HOT, HOT, HOT in July-August!

No way! Haha! THANK YOUUUUUUUUU!!!
I need to find some stores here that do just that then. Unfortunately David’s Bridal won’t ship to Canada. *grr!*

@Sasha2011: I am also Catholic and have been to a number of weddings where the bride had a strapless, and never heard that it wasn’t allowed. Is this something you were told by your church, or just personal preference?

I’m going to have a cap sleeve added to mine.
I’ll be asking to keep the leavings from the hem being altered and then I’m going to a tailor to have them create a sleeve out of it. I already talked to the tailor and they said if I bring the fabric in it will be easy and should only cost abou $30-40.
David’s Bridal only adds their own sleeves of which there are like 3 options. I didn’t like any of those so that’s why I’m going to a different place.
