I’m trying to get together alot of the pictures for the slideshow for the reception. I’m wondering for those of you who did them, how many photos did you put in and/or how long was yours?
I don’t want to over do it, and I don’t want to have it be really short either….?

- Wedding: June 2008 - Winery in the Gold Country
i used about 1 photo every 5-6 seconds and mine is 7 minutes long, divided into 3 sections (with 3 different songs)
1. us as babies and children through high school
2. us in college
3. us together
I think it flows well. I’ve got a couple comments that maybe the pictures could go even slower…

I did a slideshow with multiple pictures on a page, in keynotes on a MAC, which is similar to powerpoint… I went through phases, show the groom then myself… there were over 200 pictures and the slideshow was just over 10 mintues with 3 songs, although we did not finish the last song… each slide was about 5 secs long
I would google Wedding montages or wedding slideshows and you will come up with some sites that will professionally do it for you, but they will tell you how many pictures for what length of time… we had so many pictures we decided to put multiple on a slide to keep it around 10 minutes.

Our slideshow was just about 6 minutes long, and first there were kid photos of me, then of him, then of us together. I think it was the perfect length– any longer and people might have been bored.
