@MsBrooklynA:  We’re the last ones to get engaged, so I feel your pain.  Luckily, none of our friends have gotten engaged recently.  It was all between this time last year and September (think, like, oh 15 couples).  It’ll come soon!!!

Our situation is a little different… we have been engaged for so long that people think we already got married!  Several couples we’re friends with got engaged after us, and are either already married or getting married before us.  I don’t mind at all, it’s just kind of funny.  I know a 2 year engagement is long, but I didn’t think it was THAT long!

I was worried about the same thing last year when I thought it was cousin, something like 5 people in my close family got engaged right around the holidays.  Fortunately (unfortunately?) I was worried for nothing because we still aren’t engaged. Even if he waits another month it’s better than another year! 🙂

@MsBrooklynA: LOL well it’s combined of the two of us and including friends from high school, college, graduate school and work.  It just all hit at once!  I am not looking forward to all the money spending, but I know they’ll do the same for us so we just have to save up!

At this point probably never! 😛 Ah well, at this point I’m just taking a wait and see approach. He knows I want to marry him, if he wants to marry me he’ll make it happen when he’s ready.

I think you should do what is right for the two of you and not worry about what your friends are doing!

I worried about that but then all my friends got engaged while we didn’t. So, out of our friends, whenever we get engaged we’ll most likely be the only ones. But, now this is completely stupid, but sometimes I worry about getting lost in a flurry of engagement announcements on the ‘Bee. I can’t believe I just admitted that, but there you go. LOL

Well if 4 friends got engaged in 2 weeks, they only had an average 3.5 day separation, so I think you should tell your SO not to wait delay more than that if he does try to space it out =). I’m sure your friends and family will still be excited for you whenever it does happen. Especially the recently engaged ones who can then talk all about weddings without worrying abbout rubbing it in before you’re engaged.

I hope your packing is done soon, not fun!
