I’ve seen it both ways – I’ve known girls with both spellings and grew up with a boy named Sloan. 

Either way, I think it’s a great name!

AwkwardCoconut :  Sloane was our girl name choice! A former co-worker of mine named her daughter Sloan. I don’t hear it used often for males where I am, but I did read also that Sloane is the feminine and Sloan is the masculine.

I would imagine Sloane is the feminine name and Sloan the masculine? With that said though, the name isn’t common in my area so I couldn’t say for sure. How is it pronounced? If I’m sounding it out right it sounds very traditional and elegant and rolls off the tongue really well 🙂
