You can do it! You’ve got almost 6 weeks to go. Take it one day at a time! Decide what you MUST have, and attack those jobs first.

Haha! I barely did any DIY things and even those small ones KILLED me! Good luck!

@MrsTVLover: Excellent advice. Jobs are being crossed off that list and filed under the category of “no longer care” as we speak…
@MrsPinkPeony: You should see my list… it’s… large…
@Zavrazen: The only reason I didn’t elope was because of the ceremony. You can’t have a church wedding if you elope. So I was stuck!
@LilDrAnya: @sweetbutdemanding: I would love to do this, but FI is worse than useless at these things. It would be easier if I lived close to a crafty person… but even then, I hate to impose. I’ve basically taken on the whole thing by myself. FI is sourcing the booze, but that’s about it. I never realised it was so much work! Ugh. Killing me! It had better be worth it, that’s all I’m saying!

We’re eloping and it’s a church wedding. It can happen easy. Even with your local pastor if you have one. In fact our ceremony even includes communion! And I’ve never been happier with a decision in my life!

Maybe Etsy can save the day????

You can do it! And absolutely sort those projects into “must have”, “really want to have” and “it would be nice, but it won’t be tragic without it”. And then do one additional sort of “extremely time consuming”, “moderately time consuming”, “can be done in less than a day”. When you’re getting frustrated with a project and you can’t see straight anymore, hit one of the super short projects and get it done. You’ll get that sense of accomplishment and it’ll give you a boost to keep going!

@Rachel631: LOL, exactly why I did elope 😛

Ahhh story of my life. I have 3 months to go and sooo many projects left. My fiance and I moved away so we dont know anyone who could help – and he is horrible at crafts!
I am making all my favors – hand-made picture frames out of wire and i still have 20+ to go!
And then i have to finish all the lanterns for the ceremony, candles, streamers….

@Zavrazen: I wasn’t aware of that. Good to know! But, that said, it would still seem silly for us to get a whole bunch of dispensations and things, and go through months of paperwork and preparation just to have a secret wedding (Catholic wedding).
@sienna76: Etsy is far too expensive, sadly.
@MariContrary: @MrsPanda99: @HappinessIsInDaisies: Doing a bit better… we are now down to 63 tasks… the problem is that I need help for some of them, and people are dragging their heels. For example, I need people to email me a few photographs, and I’ve been waiting for those emails for about six weeks now. I’ve also now been told that our paperwork hasn’t reached the parish yet, which is very worrying. No paperwork = no wedding at all!

I feel your pain. Yesterday I had a mini breakdown as I felt so trapt with all the work and no one to help me, so yes – it better be worth it!!!
