We have been looking around for small, cheaper beach ceremony with small reception. We were talking to Pier House Resort. Looked beautiful and planner was very nice. Just trying to get feedback about place, or maybe other ideas. We already looked at Casa ( too expensive and didn’t like menu), Hyatt NEVER got back to me (guess they have more important things to do), and Ocean Key didn’t have beach ceremonies.

I’m getting married at the Hyatt in January, and I think it’s totally funny that they never got back to you since the Pier House never got back to me! Ha! Oh well.
The Pier House is really pretty. Did you also look at Ocean Key? They have weddings on their private dock. Really really pretty. It just didn’t work for us.

We are having our wedding in Key West in May 2010. Both the Hyatt & Pier House got back to me. Wondering if they didn’t get your emails. Did you check Southernmost Resort? They have a small beach and cafe at waterside that they can do the reception too. Try them. They were really nice and very helpful. Also, did you try the Westin? They have a great spot right on their pier. You can do a simple beach ceremony and then back to one of these spots for a reception. Just an idea.

Hey-I got married at the Casa last April-they will make anything you want them too-but still pricey. Anyway-the Hyatt “beach” is tiny as was Pier House when I checked it out, but things have changed there since we looked into it. The Westin doesn’t do beach either-they have you get married on the patio right by the water and cruise ships docks. They cater at Audubon house as well. The Reach has a beach and an awesome gazebo. The Ocean Key has you get married on a patio/deck thing that does overlook the water. Then you use the pier for the reception. I would try either Smathers beach or Ft. Zachary Taylor-you can reserve spots there-they have 4 around the park. You can try Southernmost Cafe as well-beach wedding and reception-small area too. I don’t know how small you’re talking, but having it at Ft. Zach or Smathers and then having the Conch train transport people to a restaurant like Rooftop Cafe or something is a popular choice among brides. Good luck and let me know if you have questions-we looked at pretty much every place down there!!!!
