- Wedding: May 2012
Just got finished with revamping our budget! Wait, I should say reducing our budget… no big deal tho. Since Mr.A & I are paying for all of it, we both just started new jobs, have 2 kids, and well… life, the amount we spend has to stay on track or other areas of life are effected.
As of today, there are 8 months & 20 days left until our wedding. That pretty much means that time is flying by! lol It also means that the amount of money going toward the wedding has shifted a bit. When Mr.A & I started talking about budgets we just assumed what would work and then looked at actual cost, total mistake, I was sent into the “Omg, my wedding is going to suck!” mentality.
Here we are today, we have our ceremony/reception venue with most decorations, photographers, dj, cake, officiant, and a few small details, and our budget is just over $1000. Phenomenal! Yes, part of this is because our friends have turned into friendors, to me that makes the fact that they are gifting their talents even more special.
If my calculations are correct we should be able to pull this off for $2500. This does not include my dress, which I am still searching for on Ebay and in the classifieds because I know I can get it cheaper than at the bridal shop!
Our Honeymoon is not in the budget either but we decided to take advantage of living an hour away from the coast and just purchase a “Romance Package” at the casino that includes meals/drinks. It is an awesome deal, we get a couple nights of gorgeous accomodations & fun (neither of us gamble so not worried about blowing money. lol). We will then move to another hotel, for a night or two, and just see what comes our way. I would like to surprise the Mister with a sunset beach ride if the local stable is willing to do a private package.
So, again I say, Small budget? Who cares! This is going to be what it is and I am no longer stressing on the things that we can’t have! All I want is a day to celebrate with our family & friends, also known as our “Friendamily”, followed by a few days of relaxation.
