What a refreshing attitude. Too many brides get caught up in having the weddings they see in magazines, on tv, or on the net and forget that these weddings are the minority

We should start a reality show that features a competition for the best marriage, not the best wedding.

Kudos! You defintely have the right attitude.

It’s hard to not get caught up with what you want vs. what you need. Since last year I’ve been very frustrated because I didn’t want to accept the reality that we simply can’t afford to do it the why I would like. So regroup, readjust and boom we having a very small ceremony within the next two months and then next year (or even the year after) we will have a larger celebration. There is something very freeing about accepting your limitations and making it work, rather than fighting it (which leads to nothing but endless stress and frustration).

that sounds so nice!  i am stressing over money, 1500 still due on caterer, 400 due on dj, 175 on baker, and alcohol.  totally streeeessssing.  i envy you.
