Hubs has budgeted a total of $3000 for our daughters entire wedding. While that might seem small to some out there I am looking forward to the challenge. We are having 100 guests at the evening reception and the wedding will take place in our livingroom earlier that morning with a luncheon following.
While food is taking a large portion of our budget I still need to keep a tight reign on all of our spending and that is hard considering I have so many ideas running around in my brain. I am dying just seeing what linens will cost if we rent them.
So for all other tight-budget brides out there… What are your areas of importance and what are you forgoeing?
Some of our ideas are…
I am creating a tree on a canvas for guests to put their thumbprints on as leaves which they will sign directly under their print. This will serve instead of a guestbook.
We are making her dress ourselves as well as my dress. The bridesmaids dresses are under $50 each and we are putting together the bouts ourselves from non-floral items. Just a lot of DIY.
Our focus is food and lawn games to play. The rest is icing and we’ll do what we are able and not stress about the rest. Good thing we are pretty laid back.
