You could try Cupcake Heaven in Haymarket. I’m not sure what their pricing is but they are more of a mom ‘n pop shop so I imagine they would work with you. Their stuff is great!

Also, what about just going to Wegman’s? I know it’s a supermarket, but their bakery is just as good as any independent bakery!

I would check Wegman’s as well.  I’m getting my flowers done there.  Another option is CakeLove.  Not sure about the price but it’s another place to at least call.

I second CakeLove, it’s amazing.  It looks like from their website that they make cakes that serve 70, maybe they can work with you on your numbers.  http://www.cakelove.com/cakes_wedding.php

Loved loved loved working with Victoria’s Cakery in Fairfax.  My whole wedding cake was like, $300 for 100 people.

My mom does wedding cakes at very modest prices. She used to do catering as a profession but she is a defense contractor now though she still does wedding cakes and birthday cakes on the side. Pm me if you are having trouble finding what you are after and I can put you in touch with her.  We’re in Clifton, VA, right outside of DC.  🙂

I ordered my cake from Keishas Kakes and she is very afordable (it is a small business).  She does all cake sizes and cupcakes too!  I ordered 12 dozen cupcakes in 3 different flavors instead of a wedding cake and eveyone at my wedding raved about how good they were.  And i paid about $1.40 per cupcake and that included delivery, set up and rental of the cupcake stand.  The carrot cake cupcakes with cream cheese frosting were amazing!  Good luck

I see Wegman’s was suggested, I was going to suggest a store bakery like Whole Foods or maybe even a restaurant that sells desserts. If you don’t need such a large cake, think of places you would call for a birthday cake.
