I have 60″ round tables at my reception and I’m trying to keep my floral budget on the lower end. Would a 4×4 vase be too small? I’m also accenting the table with a 4×4 lantern and will have three small votives plus the table number. I don’t want the flowers to be the smallest thing there but I also don’t have a ton of room to work with either. What were the dimensions of your centerpieces?

@cali_cat: I do think that 4×4 vases might be too small – our small centerpieces were, i believe, somewhere around 6×6. But with all the things you’re envisioning for the table, maybe it will work!

Mark out a 60″ circle on the floor. Set out place settings around the ‘table’. Remember to include water and water glasses. Add in substitutes for your vase, lantern, table number, votives etc and see what it looks like to you.

@cali_cat: I also think flowers are way too expensive. Maybe skirt around the flowers by using a vase with candles inside and using flower pedals on the table?

I would make a mock up of your centerpieces, on a table somewhat equivlent to the size yours are [or on the floor as pp stated].
I’ll be doing mockups of my tables, centerpieces, candy buffet & other stuff before the wedding so I know what to expect/change.
