Love that it’s a heirloom 🙂
I was at the mall tonight and popped into a jewellery store I’ve never been in before. So glad I did! This saleslady was great! She pulled three different rings that she knew would look good, and I ended up loving the typical, channel set band. It adds so much more to my ring and really makes it feel complete. It’s basically this:

Mine is a G brilliant cut VVSI1 .45 ct center stone diamond with 68 other small brilliant ideal cut pave diamonds in the halo and band (.75 ctw). I have small hands (my finger is 4.75) and I tried bigger diamonds and decided they weren’t for me. This one is a very high quality stone that is smaller but set in 18 ct gold so was still pretty pricy. My sister thought it was over a carat because the cut is round and large on the face instead of wasting carat weight below and the setting and halo adds to the size. It is as large as my mom’s 1ct and it also has a profile like a larger diamond.
My band (not pictured) is another 1 ctw micropave so my ctw is just distributed differently and better for my hand size.
my ring is perfect and I wouldn’t choose any other diamond or change a thing!

SOOOO pretty! LOVE LOVE LOVE the blue and white!

@Sapphire-Dreamer: That is going to be so pretty together!
My diamond alone….0.36ct
and when I’m married, the band 0.4ct…0.76tcw. I love the posts with the daintier rings not only because of the look, but realistically, they are much easier to live with every day of your life.

@sherryberry: I saw this really nice set on here a few days ago…yellow gold solitaire, with a knife edge, and they had a paved yellow gold band with diamonds almost as big as the center-stone in the solitaire. Can’t find it now…but it was beautiful together.

@sherryberry: It was like this one (paved with the gold actually around the stone), worn with a knife edge…same width (approximately 2mm) as the center diamond of the engagement ring. It was beautiful together. The result would be about .45ct or .5ct.

@shel_lee_1: my ring is similar in looks to yours! (kinda, lol)
I have no clue what size diamond is in my ring. It was originally my grandmother’s. I wear a size 4.75 or thereabouts.

@sherryberry: I betcha mine’s the smallest! 😀
