Okay this is just to get this off my chest (no pun intended)
I’m so sick of searching high and low for dresses in America that are cute with a pattern and knee length. Only to find out it won’t fit my chest.
HELLO! Designers take a cue from UK and Australia and actually make sexy cute cocktail dresses in more then an “A cup bodice or a 10. And, NO a 12 is NOT PLUS SIZING! It does not consistute being in the plus size category. Espeically when your size chart for said size is a 34?!?! The bust is a 40 in an 18???? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!
I don’t want a plain dress, I don’t want to look like my grandma in a dress, I’m a fashionista that has the money to spend on the cute sexy designer dresses only to not be able to wear them!
Charlotte Russe are you listening?
How about you L.A.M.B?
Anyone at BCBG? or Zac Posen???
IF anyone in America is listening… Big boobs are not somethign to be shameful neither are big hips.. those dresses would look just as cute on a 24 size girl with confidence as it does on a size 2 girl with confidence. I hate that I can’t find dresses that are NOT dowdy for young girls with curves! I’m not dead yet!
And I don’t want some cheap dress that makes me look like a hooker with my boobs falling out everywhere!
ARGH! I WANT A Patterned cute cocktail dress, not a big shoulder strap black dress with a TENT for the bottom or ugly shiny taffeta barbie gowns that cover every inch of my body… is that too much to ask for!
End of Rant. 🙂

Yesh, I’m a 38D. I know how it is trying to find SOMETHING that fits my chest!

I’m a 32Dirty Delete.. it is annoying in all clothing, not just wedding! Shirts that have what I call “designated boob areas” do not work. I have to go on a shirt hunt to find a shirt to fit correctly.. and most of the time I just settle for something that isn’t too flattering simply because I have given up the hunt 🙁

HAHA! I have a 40″ around bust and i was so sad about this! I thought “hmm, buy a gorgoeus size 18 and have the waist nipped in to a size 8….awesome. how the hell will this look good on me!”
i bought a corset dress–a maggie sottero, in a size 10, so only one pant size up. And, it toally fit my DD’s and was really supportive. I have some recaps floating around and there are lots of me in my dress. Definitely try corset dresses! They are awesome for some larger chests. Not sure what’s out there for more casual dresses…..Maggie has a destinations line, I HAVE seen some knee-length wedding gowns.

oh by the way, i just had to personally rip all the boning and padding and bodice out of a bridesmaid dress because my boobs were a-flowing out the sides. NOT okay for a Catholic wedding. Pretty sure they would not appreciate the bridesmaid having some side boobage going on. The inside of the dress looks like hell but it fits now =]

my dress is a maggie corset dress too and it makes my boobs look great! I have NO idea what size it is though.. I didn’t ask. They put it on me, it fit.. I didn’t want to feel sad about a stupid number!
The ladies at my shop even insisted I remove my bra.. and the dress shaped and lifted them perfectly.. I wish I had a picture..

Yeah Wedding dress i didn’t have an issue. my dress is a KittyChen but it’s being custom made for my size. It’s the darn rehersal dinner dress or my bachelorette party dress I’m having issues with! I’m a 38G with a significantly smaller waist… it’s not a pretty picture seeing me in dresses that aren’t tailored within an inch of their life!

i’ve got um, pretty wee boobs – i mean, they are a 34C but they look smaller but its really ridiculous the way they think women are supposed to be built straight up and down! TP, I can tell by your posts that you have exquisite taste and I can imagine you are frustrated!!!
i do have a booty though – and i can tell you guys that a while back, i actually went into a very expensive designer store to buy something for a major work event, ready to spend more on an outfit that I have ever spent in my whole life, and the woman looked at me and said – “We may have to special order in your size as we don’t have the bigger sizes in this store”. I wear an 6 or 8 – which last time I checked was um, not a big size!
