@Batsygirl:  I think my Fiance and I bought this same exact ring 5 years ago as a promise ring! I absolutely adore it and I know from experience that it sparkles like mad! You’re going to love it! I’m also pretty rough on my jewelry and I’ve never had any problems with it πŸ™‚

@missbluesky:  That’s a fantastic outlook on it! Diamond rings are a luxury in and of themselves, no matter the size.

Here’s my original ering. After finding the Bee I got such ring envy that I got an upgraded ring. When he first proposed I thought my ring was big and gorgeous, but as I kept seeing bigger rings on here my .47ct center seemed to shrink. I still have this original, and hope to give it to a daughter some day Smile

Funny story.  When Fiance asked (before we were engaged), “what kind of engagement rings do you like?” I blurted out, “I like round and cushion cuts.  I don’t like marquise.”

So what did he do when he went into the store?  Walks right up to the sales girl and says, “Ok.  She LOVES marquise and hates round and cushion cut.”

Hahaha!  That’s my man!  Smile

He picked out this little number:

.23 center, .5 total.  And I just recently bought my .5 carat channel set wedding band that has round stones. (WOOHOO!)

Although it isn’t a round or cushion cut, I have grown to love it.  Do I ever get a little “caught up” in looking at other people’s rounds or cushions?  Yeah, maybe.

But my love picked this out for ME.  <3 And I love it.

On the plus side, we have a funny story to tell!  Haha!

Forgot to mention: I don’t wear my marquise to work.  I work at a daycare.  With boogers, and poop, and spit, and tears, and baby food.  ALL OF WHICH gets into the little spaces on rings.  I wear a really inexpensive “stand in” while at work….Fiance wasn’t so into this idea at first, but now he understands why I do it.  He has said, “I like that you’re preserving your ring.”  Smile  And I guess that’s what I’m doing.  I’m also avoiding covering it in hand sanitizer ever 2 seconds or whipping it off and throwing it away accidentally when I’m taking off a latex glove after changing a diaper.

@Holocene:  I did the same thing…bought a nicer (but still fairly inexpensive) CZ ring thta is 2 ct and I found I actually did NOT like it – lol. I have a 1 ct diamond that really fits “me”. I thought I wanted more bling, but it just looked “big”. I am guessing if it was a 2 ct diamond, I certainly wouldnt turn it away, though – lol.

I love looking at the big rings, bt I love looking at the smaller rings, too. I personally think a very good diamond in a .5-.1 ct size is lovely on a delicate finger. I wish I had delicate fingers – lol.

I saw a poster here who spent under 350 on a diamond halo she got online and I think it was the best buy ever πŸ™‚ I dnt remember the poster but I do remember the ring. Any antique ring is lovely, just becasue it is antique.
