I have the same finger size and moissanite ring, but mine is 1.5 carats. Same cut 100% though. I have seen the ring in the .75ct size, and it looked amazing! .50 will look awesome- the ring is SO SHINY!!

@Tabye:  Congratulations and welcome to Weddingbee! I have a 1.5ct equivalent RBC moissanite solitaire, but I too wonder what a 0.5ct equivalent version looks like. Hope someone posts pics!

I am hoping to see pics… I am in the process of designing a set with a 0.75.

Where I live, anything over 0.5 is considered large! lol.

Congrats on your engagement!

Don’t take this the wrong way, truly I don’t mean offense, but it’s still going to look like a diamond to the people you work with, and everyone will assume it is one. Would that hypothetically bother you? I say this because I too am dead set against a diamond for ethical reasons and would have considered moissanite, but then I realized that until the market and social norms change, it will still be assumed to be a diamond! Unless that’s what you were going for, and the only thing that matters is that YOU know it’s not one, in which case, sorry and disregard me stating the obvious! ๐Ÿ˜›

Sorry, mine is 1ct, but maybe you can get an idea? My finger is a 6.5.

@Tabye:  I think that size combo would look terrific! Lots of Tiffany style moissy solitaires on the bee, though most are in the 1 carat or larger size. I recently bought a “stunt” ring for when my ering is being cleaned. It’s a 1/3 carat (4.5mm) stone on a 7.5ish size finger just to give you an idea of the absolute minimum coverage you’d get with what sizes you’re thinking of:

I think the smaller stone is just as lovely (and less prone to my clutziness!) as my usual ring. Incidentally, there are all kinds of different cuts available now. The above ring is a “nova” cut moissy, which has extra facets compared to a usual round brilliant moissy. I managed to get a close up picture of it because it’s so hard to see all the facets due to its size and cut etc:

(Can you tell I’ve been practicing with the macro lens? ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) There are also older cuts like the Old European Cut and I’ve even seen rose cut moissy rings on eBay.

YAAY!! That is going to look lovely on you!! Are you going with colored moissy or white?? And what kind of cut Rb?? I have a .75 stone but wear a size 7 so I think it would be rather comperable to a .50 on your size 5 finger ๐Ÿ™‚ Here is my baby.

Tabye ahh I get it now ๐Ÿ™‚ Haha, my parents are like yours, 25 years and not even wedding rings! Well, they broke and they never bothered to replace them.

Best wishes!
