So I’m having a small plates or hor d’oeuvres (whatever you want to call it) reception. There will be 4 seperate food stations.
Food Station 1: Kebobs & Sliders
Food Station 2: Build your own pasta
Food Station 3: Flatbreads and Quesedillas
Food Station 4: Fruits, Grilled Vegetables & Cheese Displays
We are estimating about 3 potions of each for each person. That equals to about 15 individual pieces, plus fruit, grilled vegitables, cheese, cupcakes and drinks.
Question is, should I even bother letting everyone know about my food selection prior to the wedding? The portions are pretty filling and our reception is from 2-6pm.

This sounds great and the timing is perfect for this kind of reception! I would still maybe specify “cocktail reception to follow” or something like that, but as a guest, I would love to attend this kind of event. 🙂

@radical4peace: This! Simply say “cocktail reception to follow” on invite and that will more than suffice.

I love that idea. Saying a cocktail reception like mentioned above is a good idea and agree that I would prefer this type as a guest. I also think mentioning that a meal can be made of it would help so people don’t fill up before going. Cut down on the left overs lol
