My Ring is a 0.5 ct Emerald cut Solitaire, Though I love the ring, I do kinda feel insecure cause all my friends have bigger rings then me, but thats to the lovely ladies here at the wedding bee I feel more secure cause your right, size does not matter!! I agree with esrockhold, We are planning on getting my ring bigger after 5 or year anniversary, so I have something to look forward to!!

No matter what size it is, it should be something you love, and I feel bad for people who feel that their ring is too small. I think it isn’t possible for a ring to be too small or large in any objective way- it is a matter of whether it is right for YOU. My diamond is .31 carats, and I can’t really imagine something bigger, as I also don’t think it’d suit me. My Fiance chose it all himself, and picked a good quality diamond (though I’m not sure if you can see that in my pics , as it is hard to take photos of jewelry). I was so surprised, and LOVE it! While I do sometimes feel self-conscious reading the boards (especially when people are upset about rings a good deal larger than mine being “too small”), I can’t imagine anything I’d want more!

I love all these rings! They all look so elegant and natural on your fingers! Mine is .69 carats and I’m really happy with it- it’s a perfect balance of quality and size for us, and the setting I’ve always adored.

I chose my ring too – it’s a half carat (main stone) tension setting!
I have attached multiple pics – I attached one with my wedding band too cause I just LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Can’t wait until I can wear both!
I actually don’t think of my ring as small – except I know .5 is considered small on WB!
In my area everyone has rings around the half carat mark and so it is average – I have even had a few comments saying that it was big!

My center stone is .55 carats and I adore it. I’m not sure what the tcw is with the sidestones, etc but I think it’s close to 1 total.
And, to sound totally cliche, it’s not the size that counts! 😛

@phedre: you’re totally right, it’s the motion of the ocean…. errr sorry i was thinking about something else … it’s the sparkle of the bauble (does that rhyme?)

I guess mine is “small” too! I have a 0.80 Tiffany-style solitare (not from Tiffany’s!) I love it :o) It’s perfect and looks really great with my wedding ring.

Mine is probably considered “small” but I love the size for my hand. The center stone is .70 with small diamonds on the setting, so the total weight is almost 1 ct. My ring size is only a 4.5, so when we were trying on rings, I didn’t really like anything over 1 ct on me. Also, I work in healthcare, so a huge rock just didn’t seem practical.

I’m not “flashy” and I love love love my .75 emerald solitaire. I’d much rather save that money to spend on our life together. He did perfect.

I have a 0.5 carat round cut solitare in a low crown setting and love it. When trying on rings, they put 1 carat on me and I hated it… I also tried on some of the halo settings but they were so big! My wedding band is an antique esq engraved band. Like some of the other posters I couldn’t see spending $10000 on my e-ring but then again flashy is not my style.

My ring is .54 carats of loveliness!! It is pretty and delicate and the setting showcases her beautifully. I wouldn’t want anything bigger =) Fiance went for quality over quantity, and got an ideal cut diamond, though he had the option of a bigger, cheaper diamond, and i’m glad he did.

oooh oooh, great thread! I just got my precious last Friday. 🙂 The center stone is .31 with the halo setting weighing in at .11, so a little under .5 carats all together. At first I was a little disappointed, until we went to the jewelry store and I realized my dear Fiance traded quantity for quality. He got the highest grade diamonds and boy do they sparkle!!! I did tell him smaller was better, since I’m a size 4.5 and anything too big ends up looking like costume jewelery on me.
I did, however, talk him into trading in the plain white gold wedding band in for one with diamonds on it to add a LITTLE more bling. 🙂
