We’ve pretty much narrowed down the restaurants where we will have our reception is at.
We did notice that there is a lot of space in the venues where the food isn’t that great. But the one that we like the food will have a smaller venue. Is it bad to have a smaller venue but the food will be tastier? This venue will accommodate my size but it’ll just be a bit squeezed and tight. I’m leaning towards to the smaller venue but with better food.
Although the bigger venue will be more comfortable and easier to decorate I just feel that a wedding with good food is my thing, although my guests may not feel the same if they are too close together.

smaller venue will be cozy and heighten the atmosphere. (as long as it’s not cramped and stuffy)
GOOD FOOD IS ESSENTIAL.
Did you see that post (can find it right now) about what people remember most about weddings they attended? (little hint: it wasn’t the decorations 😉 )
So go for the good food every time!

no I didn’t, if you can find that link I would love to see it!
Unfortunately some people have told me it’s a bit cramped after they saw photos.
It is a bit cramped compared to other places however I’m really digging the food.

I love how most people said food and overall vibe.
Just wondering if anyone chose a smaller restaurant due to food.

I’d rather have good food than a little extra elbow room! I say go with the small venue with great food!
If you are really worried about space – is it possible to scale down your guest list a little bit?

I think it really depends on just how “cozy” it’s going to get in there. Any dimensions you can share/head count/etc?

If it’s a small venue, does it still technically fit the number of guests you’ll have? That’s all that matters. And I personally would love good food over space.

I think that a cozy space can be nice but if I can’t sit comfortably or it’s one long table and everyone has to get up every time someone has to go to the bathroom that would probably be a little too tight for me.
how many people and how much space? what is the comfortable capacity of the venue?

I’ve eaten – or in some case skipped – lousy food, at enough weddings, in my life.

I definitely support the better food. That said, how’s the air circulation in there? Will it become stuffy or, heaven forbid, stinky? You don’t want everyone eating the awesome food and then leaving because they’re too uncomfortable. I second the recommendation that you see if you can pare down your guest list to make a little more room – or see if the location will cater elsewhere!

Thanks girls! The full capacity would be about 40 tables but that’s if you’re packing the tables in there. It’s going to be round tables and I believe that we’d be able to try and drop some guests unfortunately.

we are having the wedding in early January/February. So the AC would not be too bad. 😜 however good thinking!
