My wedding size is almost exactly yours. 50 guests, 1 Maid/Matron of Honor and 1 Best Man. We’re doing a sweetheart table. I love the idea of just me and my Fiance at the table together. If we had a bigger wedding party maybe we would consider it, but this allows our Maid/Matron of Honor and Best Man to sit with their SO and just come up when they need to make their speeches. I say go for it if it’s what you want. I think it’s cute!!

We did a regular round table where us, the bridal party and their SO’s sat. I’m not a fan of head tables whatsoever. I’ve never been at a wedding with a sweetheart table but a friend of mine was just talking about a wedding she went to on the 11th an said they looked really bored all alone. If you and fh think you’d enjoy the time to yourselves to chat then go for it. If you’d rather socialize and sit with people then do a normal table

You would have some company this way!

I’m not doing a head table. I think they’re a bit too formal for intimate weddings. I’m going to seat our wedding party with their dates and my fiancé and I will sit with our parents. We’d be bored by ourselves, and it’s a nice way to honour our parents on our special day.

@MsJ2theZ:  I agree. Don’t separate your wedding party from their spouses – sit together at a round.

We had a sweetheart table, and it was perfect.  We loved being able to eat our dinner just the two of us.  It was romantic.

I am also hrowing around the idea of just a sweetheart table!
