I’m getting married in 13, count ’em, 13 days! Still haven’t settled on a head table solution. We have just a Maid/Matron of Honor and Best Man. Total head count is 53. Sweetheart table is an option, but just can’t decide….thoughts?

My wedding size is almost exactly yours. 50 guests, 1 Maid/Matron of Honor and 1 Best Man. We’re doing a sweetheart table. I love the idea of just me and my Fiance at the table together. If we had a bigger wedding party maybe we would consider it, but this allows our Maid/Matron of Honor and Best Man to sit with their SO and just come up when they need to make their speeches. I say go for it if it’s what you want. I think it’s cute!!

We did a regular round table where us, the bridal party and their SO’s sat. I’m not a fan of head tables whatsoever. I’ve never been at a wedding with a sweetheart table but a friend of mine was just talking about a wedding she went to on the 11th an said they looked really bored all alone. If you and fh think you’d enjoy the time to yourselves to chat then go for it. If you’d rather socialize and sit with people then do a normal table

You would have some company this way!

I’m not doing a head table. I think they’re a bit too formal for intimate weddings. I’m going to seat our wedding party with their dates and my fiancé and I will sit with our parents. We’d be bored by ourselves, and it’s a nice way to honour our parents on our special day.

@MsJ2theZ: I agree. Don’t separate your wedding party from their spouses – sit together at a round.

We had a sweetheart table, and it was perfect. We loved being able to eat our dinner just the two of us. It was romantic.

I am also hrowing around the idea of just a sweetheart table!

Thanks so much for the suggestions! Funny how including the fi in the equation changes things -we’ve decided to do a square table in the middle of everyone else with he and I sitting on one side and the Maid/Matron of Honor and Bridesmaid or Best Man at the heads of each side. That way we’re facing out and they’re with us. SO’s not such a problem, one is single and the other is soooo laid back.
Scratch one more thing off the list!
Good luck to everyone with your wedding days – hope you enjoy them!
