Hello!<br /> So we are looking for a venue for about 60 people for a 2015 wedding! The venue doesn’t have to be in Toronto, just as long as it’s within an hour ride of the city. We have a pretty tight budget as we are paying for it ourselves, we would prefer if it was 100$pp including the venue rental, the food, open bar, etc. Basically we don’t want any surprise costs. We are more than happy to get married in the winter (off season) or on a Sunday/Friday in order to cut costs! Also, we would rather if the venue was a bit different; not the typical banquet hall with typical banquet hall food. So far we have looked at the Kortright Conservation Area and Old Mill Inn and Spa. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

When I was looking at wedding venues in the GTA, Balzacs is actually one place I really wish could have fit all of our guests! It’s a bit different but the Distillery District location is beautiful. Unfortunately you have to coordinate catering separately but they allow any outside caterers which might save some costs in the end.
With your wedding size, you could also consider some local restaurants, a couple of my favourites that I looked at (but were too small for us) were http://www.sassafraz.ca/weddings/rooms-and-capacities.aspx
And http: bit bit //www.leselect.com/event/event.php (nice french bistro vibe with a sweet garden)
Finally, I loved all of the Landmark Groups restaurants (Cambridge Mill, Ancaster Mill, Whistlebear, Spencer’s) I think most of these have a room that’s close to your required size.

Ancaster Mill! That is where we are getting married.. We were originally going to do a Jan 2016 wedding because in the off months they have amazing packages and for 65 it was the best priced we could find. We ended up going with a Saturday lunch for under 45 people in April 2015. They are SO accomodating, the place is beautiful, the food is amazing – I could go on~!
I too looked at balzacs, sassafrazz and a few other places but these 3 would be my picks 🙂
