I am planning a SMALL wedding for this summer in Philly. Smaii meaning 25 people total. Although it’s small I still have a rather hefty budget. Does any one know of a cool, hip spot I can reserve for our wedding dinner. I am not very traditional so all “out of the box” suggestions would be great. it seems that all my online searching only give me wedding venues for large receptions. I’m thinking outside? rooftop? loft like? Funky? Doesn’t have to be all inclusive. Happy to find my own caterers etc but a restaurant would be great too.

Hey date twin!
I have no idea about Philly, but check out offbeatbride.ning.com. Once you join and post to the regional boards there, I bet you will get a lot of good feedback in addition to whatever you get here.

You can also post this in the local Philadelphia section of WB!! Good luck!
Have you checked into the Artesano Iron Works Gallery? http://www.artesanoironworks.com/
Or the Mutter Musuem? http://www.collphyphil.org/Site/The_College_of_Physicians_of_Philadelphia.html
Also, the Chesnut Club is a really cool small venue, but may be too big for your size. http://www.thechestnutclub.com/

- Wedding: May 2011 - Bartram's Garden
Philadelphia’s Magic Garden. We almost had ours there but it was a bit too small for our wedding.

Last summer I went to a wedding at The National Society of Colonial Dames (1630 Latimer St.) and I thought it was a fantastic place for a small wedding! If you google it, you can see images of the space. Good luck finding a venue 🙂

We first were looking at using the rooftop of the Continental Midtown restaurant. Its decked out like a 70s lounge. And its a Starr restaurant so you know the food is awesome.

I think I would consider a couple of unusual venues in the Phila. area.
l. Reading Terminal Market. They do a great party with a choice of plated dinners, stations and hors d’oeuvres, or “taste the market”. It has to be after 7 p.m., but everything you either sample or are served is absolutely the freshest and the best.
2. Deck of the Battleship NJ under the stars. Beautiful views. Good food,
absolutely a WOW experience for a small group.
3. The rooftop of the Kimmel Center, Broad STreet, might be available at the time of your wedding, although I know it was undergoing some changes. 360 degree view of the city, and basically three states.
4. The Tree House at the Philadelphia Zoo. Great fantasy wedding spot. Full plated menus, appetizers, or stations. Magical inside. Could be great for an intimate wonderful, magical evening.
