What was the specs on the 1ct stone?  I agree though, an upgrade in size and downgarde in quality had hardly and “upgrade” imo.  Upgrade to me would be the same or better quality AND the same or bigger size.

I would love to see picks of the different rings.  Also what were the specs on the larger diamond?  I really feel like the shape of the diamonds really determines which of the c’s will be most important.  For example with an Emerald cut clarity needs to be at the top of the list, with an oval color needs to be at the top, I think with a round the cut is most important.

Same here – I was secretly hoping for a bigger diamond but my fiance told me he went for the colorless rather than size (booooo).  So when we went to buy wedding bands I fooled around with the idea of enlarging my diamond and getting a super fancy band with the credit but I couldnt help but notice that I could tell a difference.  To afford a larger diamond meant sacraficing the color and clarity and I kept my diamond and couldnt be happier!!

dar7:  i like the smaller one better anyway. i am not one to follow trends when it comes to jewelry so i have never been a fan of the halo setting anyway….but your smaller diamond is gorgeous!!

I like both rings! But I like the .60 better.

dar7:  Both are very pretty! They are very different from one another, so you get two totally different looks when you want them.
