I know you’re asking for 1 CT or less but since no one has posted I thought I might be able to help. I have a 1.5 CT unenhanced moissanite. I don’t see any hints of green or yellow in it at all. I’m not exactly sure of this, but I have read that a 1 CT or less does not need to be enhanced (because of its size it won’t show the hints of green/yellow).

That being said, MoissaniteCo now offers the new Mira Moissanite from betterthandiamond.com. I don’t know too much about it (you can look it up on betterthandiamond.com or MoissaniteCo’s website) but I do know it’s a raw moissanite that has been through some sort of process to make it whiter/high color grade. If you do decide to get the Mira from MoissaniteCo (you can also get it from betterthandiamond.com), you have to buy both the stone and the Mira upgrade.

Here’s a video of my ring in different lighting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMU6BhbUNT8

If you need some more information, just put “Moissanite” in the search and check the boards. There’s a lot of moissanite information floating around. Hope this helps some!

It’s very prismatic; like a crystal in the sunlight.

Hey!

No pics sorry…

I have a 1ct unenhanced moissy in a bezel as a right hand ring, and also have a 5 stone 1.25 ct ring (each stone .25 of a ct).

All of the stones appear untinted in regular settings, except for the 1 ct in the car- for some reason it has a different appearance then. I would not call it green or yellow, just…warmer.

I love moissy, and bought both rings from moissaniteco. The settings are sturdy and look expensive. I would say BUY THAT STONE!

Buy it! No enhancements needed for smaller than a carat but if you do get it from MoissaniteCo, they dont offer enhanced stones anymore because they have the new Mira Moissanite (Which I am getting for my center stone, so stoked!!) If you dont like it, you can send it back or, like you said, place it in another jewelry setting! Happy shopping!!

No need for anything special in a less than 1 carat stone unless you’re super sensitive to color in stones. I have a 1 carat unenhanced/non-Mira. Never see any color off it unless it’s reflecting something nearby in the environment. I believe the setting can also change its color in theory. So if you don’t want yellow, be wary of yellow gold. The jeweler who made my ring uses mossanite’s highly reflective property to make it look whiter than it is by putting it in a special white gold alloy. He didn’t tell me the secrets, but it seems to work. I absolutely adore that rainbow prism/disco ball effect from it since I love colors in general. Here’s mine. You can see it picking up the pink from my shirt and the general colors of the environment in the second photo. And I suspect it’s picking up the black from my camera in the first photo. Really don’t see a difference between it and the Mira out there other than mine being generally smaller than most Mira.

I have a 1.8 ct unenhanced moissanite and it’s definitely a warm color–but that was what I asked for.  I don’t have pics because it’s still being made but my jeweler ordered it so that I could see it before we stuck it in the ring.  I’d definitely check it out before you commit to keeping it.  Also, there is some variation–if you get a stone and you don’t like it, you can tell them why and see if you can exchange it.  The first one jeweler ordered, he sent back because it did not have the fire he wanted.

Also, if you’re wanting to pass it off as a diamond at a casual glance, a warmer color could work in your favor.

@MrsOliveBird: I thought I was the only one that saw a warmer color in the car..that’s the only place I see it!

I have a 1.05ct unenhanced Moissy, and it’s a beautiful gem! It sparkles a lot, but not to the point of looking like a disco ball. If you go bigger than 1ct, then get it enhanced.

Here it is in direct sunlight (below):

@MissPine: Thanks! I agree with everyone who says there does seem to be some color variation. I know the jeweler we went to hand picks the best stones for his solitaires. But also keep in mind that the setting can make a difference in how colorful it appears– setting and shape. I assume you’re getting a round brilliant cut. Those are the whitest per carat. Has to do with how much light the stone can internally refract. Good luck and show us the finished product when you’re done! I love my ring. I feel it’s dazzling but not glaringly so. I bet you’ll feel the same way in the end.

I have a 1 ct unenhanced, and I really don’t notice any warmness to it in color. I don’t have any great photos myself, but like the second photo Noenyu posted, it throws crazy prismatic sparkles in good light. Sometimes onn a very cloudy day, it looks a little bit gray-ish, but I have no complaints of the unenhanced. On the other hand, mine is in a full bezel setting in white gold, so I wonder if maybe that makes it look more clear or something.

Here’s the seller’s listing, so not my own ring, but that’s basically how it looks, and the one in the photo is actually the size you want! http://www.etsy.com/listing/61914800/classic-moissanite-solitaire-ring-with
