Darling Husband and I are trying SMEP this cycle (I’m on CD12 now, we started BD EOD on CD 8). Last cycle I used CB Advanced and tested with FMU (per the instructions, my understanding is you can use FMU and you can also test again later in the day once you start getting flashing smileys), and I also used standard OPKs and tested early afternoon. This cycle I’m still using CB Advanced but have been doing my second test much later – around 8/8:30 p.m. as it’s just been more convenient for me to test after work rather than having to test at work as I did last cycle. I am using Pregmate strips to do my evening tests and I’ve also been re-testing using the CB Advanced at the same time. I’ve been getting the flashing circle on CB advanced for a couple days and very clear negatives on the Pregmate so far. However, the instructions for Pregmate say to test in afternoon through early evening. I’ve been testing later in the evening out of convenience but now I’m wondering if it means I could miss the positive OPK somehow. I don’t know that I 100% trust the CB Advanced or the Pregmate, so I’m going a bit overboard by using both. I’m also checking CM and temping but I’m trying to follow SMEP exactly this cycle so I’m relying more heavily on OPKs this cycle. Should I be testing in the afternoon or early evening instead of between 8 – 9 p.m.? Anyone have any idea if it really makes a difference? Thanks!
