Black spinel diamonds? There is no such thing. Quartz wouldn’t be my choice for an everyday ring because it has a Mohs scale score of 7.

I think it’s pretty and it looks like an engagement ring to me. I would just recommend taking it off when doing house work, showering, sleeping, etc… those spinels are a softer stone. If you love it get it, it’s beautiful!

It’s a unique ring, but I wouldn’t automatically think it was an engagement ring. It looks more like a cocktail ring to me. But if you love it, that’s all that matters.

Heaven :  Spinel is a stone.  It has a hardness of 8 which is good. But if you hit the center stone on a hard metal surface it could damage it. Moissanite, sapphire, ruby or diamond make much better stones for daily wear. I have a tourmaline ring that is the same hardness (7) and I am very, very careful when I wear it.

It’s a beautiful ring, for an engagement ring. Not a wedding ring, which for me needs to be plain metal band at best, or at least small stones all round if you must have stones.Did you mean wedding ring,or engagement ring?

Spinels are not diamonds btw. They are in the ruby family I think?

To me it looks like a gothic right hand ring.  To each her own.

I think it’s beautiful! It’s not everyone’s choice for an engagement ring, but if it’s YOUR choice, that’s all that matters!

I would be worried about the hardness of the stone though. It will scratch easily.

I love it!!!! I love unique engagement rings personally. But quartz is a softer stone so it might scratch a bit easy as an e-ring that is worn everyday. I originally wanted amethyst as an engagement ring but its softness made me reconsider. But it’s a gorgeous ring.

I absolutely love it, and if you love it too then you should get it! My grandmother rocked this big smokey quartz (I think it’s around 11C?) every single day for over 40 years and all it has is a few scratches. I wear it once in a blue moon, when I’m feeling extra. 😉 This pic doesn’t do it justice, it actually sparkles like crazy!

If you love it, then get it! It’s definitely a statement ring though, so if you ended up changing your mind about it down the road and got a new ring people would definitely notice! But honestly it’s your ring, who cares what anyone else thinks.

Agree with PP’s, you’ll definitely have to baby it. If you’re not used to wearing jewelry this could be hard to get used to. Just make sure you take it off before doing anything with your hands, like housework, cooking and whatnot. Take it off when you shower, sleep. All that tiny pavé would make me nervous too. Be super careful not to knock your hand on things. I swear I never did it UNTIL I started wearing an ering lol.
