- Wedding: May 2012
So, like many of you I’m trying to make my wedding as classy as possible on a budget! In the realm of things, my reception venue is not terribly expensive ($21 pp buffet + we bring the drinks) however I’m struggling with the $6 per person *per appetizer* price for cocktail hour. So, basically that means for three types of appetizer that tacks on an additional $18 pp. No can do!
So, back to my original point. Because the venue is cool and not-for-profit we can actually bring our own snacks for cocktail hour so long as we don’t need the kitchen. Sweet! Now, I’m trying to think about what I can make/buy ahead of time that will be fun. Here are my ideas.
#1: Popcorn Buffet (with cute DIY holder cone thingys)
This would be several large bowls of popcorn including:
– Carmel Corn
– Cajun Corn
– Regular Popcorn
– Ranch flavored Popcorn
– Chocolate Popcorn
#2: Trail mix buffet.
Yeah… a mix your own trail mix.
#3: Cookies and baked sweets buffet.
I’m having trouble thinking of things that would be fun and don’t need to be cooled/heated? Any ideas? Did you do anything like this yourself?
