What about key lime pie?  A little lemon/lime thing going on.  You could make key lime pie cupcakes, key lime cookies, or give key lime pie mix.

Or my Future Mother-In-Law makes this amazing strawberry pretzel squares – salty and sweet.   They’d go great with lemon.

Here’s the recipe:  http://www.kraftfoods.com/kf/recipes/strawberry-pretzel-squares-53033.aspx

Usually limoncello is served after a carb-loaded meal like pasta, right? I think anything super sweet like a bar or chocolate paired with limoncello would be an overload for your pallet! In keeping with the italian thing- what about biscotti? There are a gazillion recipes for biscotti online… the possibilities there are endless. I would probably search for a cherry or almond flavor though 🙂 Good luck

I love the idea of doing some sort of biscotti.  Like Recessionista Bride suggested, I wonder if lemoncello would be a little too sweet with a sweeter dessert.  I think some biscotti would definitely do the trick and keep with an Italian theme.  I make a cranberry-pistachio biscotti (it’s a Giada DiLaurentiis recipe from Food Network) at Christmas and they’re delicious.  They’re just sweet enough without being too much.

As far as taste is concerned, I would go with a shortbread cookie to round out the sweetness of the Limoncello.

Maybe angelfood cake or a nice plain shortbread cookie?

Oooo Limoncello…. good choice! I second the shortbread cookies, with maybe a lemon-flavored icing. Mmm…. I’m debating on whether or not to have Limoncello martinis as our signature drink at our reception. Or maybe a Limoncello sparkling punch… Mmm… now I want one! 🙂
