So my wedding venue insists that all weddings start an hour before sunset, which for my May 2014 date will be like 7pm! Add in time for the ceremony and a cocktail hour and dinner is incredibly late.
So I was thinking of putting some sort of snack on the buses that leave from the hotel to the wedding site – i.e bag of chips, pretzels, an orange (our color) or cookies.
I was considering either putting one decoratively on the seats or just doing a basket on the first seat that people could grab from as they get on.
Do you think this is a good idea or do you think people will be super aware of the timing and have eaten a late lunch and this is a non issue?

are you sure they don’t mean AT LEAST one hour before sunset? and maybe allow it to be a little earlier when sunset is so late? you should double check and negotiate because that’s just dumb.

@orangeroses29: I agree with the PP, that it seems terribly restricting. Double check your contract wording and if it is something that is really bothering you, talk to them about it. That IS a little late for dinner, and for your reception to run, so I should think that they would have a hard time booking under those circumstances. I would definitely ask about this specificially if it is a little murky on your contract. Make sure the buses are ok with guests having food on there as well. I wouldn’t do oranges, beacuse that would be hard to eat, but maybe you could do those little orange gummies that look like orange slices, orange tic tacs, or another orange refereshing treat.

Don’t give oranges, they are so messy to eat.
Maybe a trail mix? And then offer a nut-free alternative.
