@firsttimemom: That’s interesting! I’m not exactly sure how this would be possible either! The velcro is sewn on the outside of the diaper. Maybe she meant where the laundry tabs were? Those are ‘soft’, but not as soft as the suedecloth, so I could see them irritating or leaving marks.

@pansyshell: I know, she said the marks were on the front of them… like on their belly, unless she had the velcro done super tight and the kids had muffin tops I can’t imagine how it’s possible.

For a while Dear Daughter was squirmy and the velcro was easier.  But that phase only lasted about a month.  Now she is 16 months and loves to take her diapers off.  She can’t take off the snaps.  Also like others said, the velcro catches in the wash (even if I do secure it before I put it in).  And it gathers lint and just looks worse than the snaps.  In fact I’m buying some more diapers this month and I specifically was looking to swap out all my aplix/velcro diapers.  Me no likey.  I just need to find somewhere online to swap diapers out, LOL.

@MightySapphire: Are you looking to trade your velcro diaper in for snaps or just to convert the velcro to snaps? I haven’t used them but I found this company that takes velcro diapers and converts them to snaps. If your diapers are still in good condition it might be cheaper than buying all new ones.

ETA: I just looked and it’s $3.75 a diaper! Also there are a ton of snap colors and designs to choose from which is kinda cool.

I also saw this step by step post on DIYing the conversion yourself. I know the snap pliers is ~$35 and the KAMsnaps themselves are rediciously inexpensive.

@pansyshell: Ooh, thanks!  I already own snap pliers and tons of snaps (although they are all white).  I could easily to this myself!  Yay!
