Oh man, at least you tried! I can’t even imagine trying, I just feel like who would really want to read all about my lil wedding? You could always try again, maybe tweak it a little bit. Good luck with your planning!

Keep trying! Lots of Bees don’t get accepted to blog until their 2nd or 3rd try. I would read some of the blog posts giving advice–i.e. keep firming up details and finding your vision, your blogging voice, etc.

I would encourage you to read through the ‘A Bee’s Life’ series.  Many of the Bees got rejected the first, even second time through.  A lot of the blogger Bees give some really good advice about how to maybe retool your application or make your blog stronger.

Don’t be discouraged, there are still many months until your wedding that you can apply!

Edit:  I’ve read through some of your blog and I think you could have a really great wedding to share on Weddingbee!  I would just make sure when you go to apply next (which I think you should) that you have been blogging consistently after the last few weeks about wedding related topics, and each blog post has to do with just one subject.  I think they look for number of posts over a certain week period.  And by the time you go to apply, a lot of your decisions need to have been made from what I can tell; decor, vendors, colors.  Good luck!

I also got rejected, 4 weeks after I applied.  I was really excited about it, and I just told my fiance that I was rejected, and he was totally confused and then said if I’m going to write a blog that no one reads, I might as well just do a text file on my computer.  Thanks.  Plus I had bridesmaid drama today.  So I’m feeling just a bit bummed.

I would think about tweaking and reapplying, but I don’t know what was wrong with it in the first place that would need to be tweaked.  I think I’m going to go pout for a while.

@MissCanyon: Yeah I wonder about the application itself.  I figured the blog was what mattered most, and I’m really proud of what I have to offer.  But in hindsight, the application itself was definitely somewhat thrown together.

And as far as “A Bee’s Life” and advice, it’s hard because it’s not specific at all.  “Be yourself,” “Find your voice,” etc.  Obviously no one can tell you what your voice is, and I feel mine is my voice (so maybe my voice is not what they’re looking for).

I think I’ll take a couple days off to brood and then hopefully start up again and reapply.  Good luck to everyone else out there who didn’t make it!

I think, that given that my wedding is in March, I’ve missed my chance.  It was a long shot to begin with.  I put my blog together for the sole purpose of applying to weddingbee ๐Ÿ˜›  But, I have really enjoyed it, and gotten a lot of good feedback on it, so I’ll keep it up.  All in all, I’d call it a win.  I hope MissOGB and MissCanyon make it next time around!

I’m sorry you got rejected! Having been rejected twice, I remember that feels kind of crappy! But if you really want to blog for Weddingbee, I hope you’ll try again. ๐Ÿ™‚

Here’s a question I’ve always had, having read some of the Bee’s Series and what not: my blog is not ENTIRELY wedding related.  Am I going to be faulted for that?  Is that a technical requirement?  Obviously, I haven’t done all my research, and I’m way too far out – but I figured since you girls were talking about it, I would ask.

And apply again!  I think a wedding at the Grand Canyon sounds AMAZING!

@jenandchris: I don’t blog, so I can’t say for certain.  But I have read many of the Bee’s blogs before they became Bee’s and they had non-wedding related stuff in them.  I think I remember them tagging the post as something wedding related…then it seems like when they go to read it, they could filter it that way?
