I’m in upstate NY and we have weather warning right now. I know some of you Chicago bees will be getting a lot of snow. They predicted that we could get up to 2 feet.
Any bees prepping for the storm (possible blizzard I hear)?
Does your job allow you to stay home in bad weather?
I added a poll because who doesn’t love polls?

I like it because it means Darling Husband stays home from work with me and we get to watch movies and eat popcorn. I don’t like shoveling the driveway and the cold! LOL!

Yeah I hate the shoveling but love staying home, especially if Darling Husband stays home too!

I live in Missouri, and we are expecting up to an inch of ice, and 12-20 inches of snow. It is supposed to be pretty bad, unfortunately.
Yes, we went grocery shopping yesterday, and have plenty of candles and such in case of a power outage.
Yes, luckily I can work from home. I work from home pretty frequently anyway, so it makes sense for me to do it in bad weather!

I don’t get them anymore down here in TX but when I lived up north, I LOVED snow storms. For me – the only way cold, gross winter is bearable is when lots of pretty white snow covers the ground!
ETA: Getting to work form home because you can’t make it into the office is never a bad thing either.

i love being able to stay home! luckily i don’t have to shovel since i live in an apartment and park in a garage…if i did, i might feel differently!

Fiance works right around the corner from our house so he alllllways goes in and I work at the mall which only closes when it is the end of the world. Hopefully when the world ends this week we will both get to stay home! 🙂

I do love snowstorms, but where I’m living right now I think we’re going to get the crappy part of the storm 🙁 Where I grew up in Indiana, they’re predicting snow drifts between 4 and 8 feet. Here, we’re on the southern end of the ice storm – I’m hoping that it ends up being mostly rain, because otherwise we could have impassable roads and power outages!

Ugh. I dislike all things cold 🙁 I’d rather work that deal with snow! (Maybe if I had paid time off I would feel differently, haha)

@Lindsay- We are supposed to get ice as well, I don’t think that bad. Thanks for the candle reminder, I’ll have to buy some! I also need to get groceries.
Lucky you for being able to work from home. I can’t really do that but my work is nice when I have to take off for weather, however I never have so maybe that’s why if I do this time it’s not a big deal!

I only like snow when it happens late at night and into the early morning, so I wake up and don’t have to go to work. Oh, I want it to all melt away that night, so I don’t have to worry about my commute to work.
None of this mid-day snow. None of this snow then icing crap!
If you can make snow do that, I would love snow! LOL
ETA: Actually, I’m fine with snow. It’s pretty and I don’t mind shoveling it. What I don’t like is icing! If it never iced up, I would be a very happy woman!! Snow can still give you traction as long as you drive carefully… ice is scary, dangerous, freaks me out. Oh, and that includes black ice. Stupid black ice. Oh, get rid of that stuff called sleet, too!

@Soon2beeMrsM: Haha, we forgot to use an entire box of votives at our wedding, so they may come in handy!

Personally I’m a bit fed up of the snow this year.. its been constant since xmas it has snowed every single week. I dont like the mess it leaves behind and all the shovelling, cleaning and driving in the snowy aftermath.

I just hate shoveling. And last year when Pittsburgh got hit we were stranded for like 4 days and it almost got to the point where we had to walk to a grocery store because we were running out of food…not fun!

Hate hate hate hate hate snow storms. The company I work for apparently thinks that we can all teleport to work because calling off is not permitted. Who cares if you wreck your car, as long as your are at work!!!
I love everything else about working for the company, just the snow policy burns my biscuit.
