To my fellow waiting bees…
I went ring shopping with SO yesterday and it was harder than I thought! We have gone to several stores (some twice), so I know what I am looking for in a ring and there are many rings I like, but no rings I LOVE, mostly because no rings have everything I imagined in a ring.
Wish List for my setting: 6 prongs for a round diamond, prong or pave diamonds on the band, details/design on the side of the ring (similar to Verragio), a band that isn’t too wide/ on the narrower side, and a matching wedding band that is flush with the e-ring (NO gaps). Does this exist?
I can’t find it and don’t know if I should keep looking or if I should pick which features are most important. I don’t currently wear rings, and it is overwhelming to pick a ring I will wear every day the rest of my life! Anyone else have a similar problem picking a ring? Here are some options I have…
Option # 1: narrow pave 6 prong that is flush with matching wedding ring (problem- no details on the side, it seems boring to me compared to the others)
Option # 2: Verragio ring- 4 prong (instead of 6), not surehow wedding band would fit bc they didn’t have the matching wedding band in the store.
Option # 3: Micro pave band- the sides sparkle, would need to get the head changed from 4 prong to 6 prong.
Option # 4: I found this ring and I think you would love it!
Option # 5: Keep looking!
Option # 6: Consider having a ring custom designed (and if you know anything about that, please share 🙂 )
Thanks for your help bees! <3

I like #1. I don’t think people really look at the sides that much.

i used to be really obsessed with the side of the ring too… and then my Fiance got me a ring that has a totally plain side, and i really love it. i like how simple it looks, and i almost always only see the top of the ring anyways.
however, if you really place the most importance on the side view, i’d probably go with option 2 or 3.
my ring is very similar to option 1 and i love it. 🙂
ETA: the prong head on the 3rd choice should be veryyy easy to change to 6 prong. not so sure about the verragio since their designs are so complex.

Something to consider about having details on the side is when you add your wedding band(s)there will be issues with rubbing wearing down the details, especially since you want the band to sit flush witn your ering.

Option 3 is the winner in my eyes! Love how the centre stone stands out from the band. Option 1 is second and option 2 third.
tbh they’re all beautiful though, which one felt best when on your finger?

Lol we’re not helpful are we -4 votes each so far!!!

I’m a sucker for the profile since most of my ring’s character is there. During the day, the view I have of my ring is the one from the side since I have a highly desk oriented job.

They said they couldn’t change the prongs on the Verragio, so it would be 4 for sure. Glad to hear the 3rd one should be an easy fix though. I am not sure why, but I love 6 prongs on round diamonds, they look more round to me! I guess part of me loves #1 and part of me feels like I am a complex person and a simple ring doesn’t fit my personality, but the complex ring doesn’t have the prong setting I like- it is a vicious circle! Your ring looks gorgeous!! I like thinner, delicate bands and your center stone looks very impressive!
They said the matching wedding ring has the same design, so you will still be able to see the side design with both of them on. They also told me it would be flush, but I’m not sure if I believe them!

@HeartsandSparkles: i like the first one the best.
no one is going to see the sides and you said that you wanted your band to fit tightly beside the ering. if you have detail and pave on the sides, your band will rub on it and may cause damage (rub off the detail or loosen stones). not to mention, your band will have to have detail/diamonds on the sides as well to keep the look uniform. you won’t even see the side of your ering with the band on.

I really like the first one!

- Wedding: August 2013 - The Liberty House
I voted for the first one because even though it has plain sides, that will be covered up by the wedding band anyway.

I will also have a desk job- something else to think about- thanks!

I’m not really used to wearing rings, so they all felt weird, lol. The 2nd one is the thickest though which worries me a little- I wouldn’t want i tot be too thick once the wedding band is added.
