Hang in there! my husband just got laid off last week AND those a-holes didn’t even pay him for the last 12 days of work AND we just found out we are expecting ๐Ÿ™‚ so it could be way worse. He was by far the breadwinner of our family but luckily i provide insurance through my company. Its tough but you will always make it work! Fingers crossed he doesn’t get laid off but know its not the end of the world if he does. He will find something and there is always unemployment to keep you on your feet until he doees. It’s important to be there for him and try and be the calming force. Guys pride themselves so much on their jobs and this is going to be 100 times more difficult for him. I’m sorry you are going through this!

Anxiety is a valid emotion!! This will be very tough for him, and he will look to you for support!  Just *try* remain calm and collected if/when you do get the call.  Being worried about expenses, although completely normal, right away will only add stress to the situation.  If he is laid off, he is eligible (I assume) for unemployment, and perhaps even a severance (in some cases!).  I find that things always seem to work out.  Just let him ‘feel’ for the time being, and vent to us when you become overwhelmed ๐Ÿ™‚  GOOD LUCK!!

Yes, they do!!  I am living proof of it ๐Ÿ™‚  I was laid-off in 2008, and started a new career, of which I love more than the first!! And, I survived financially, with the help of unemployment ๐Ÿ™‚  Keep thinking positively!!

@purpledaisies:  So happy to hear that everything worked out! I’m sorry about all his friends:( This is such a crappy situation, but at least you can relax now!
