Yipeebee:  Your ring is beautiful. I did get engaged with a traditional diamond sparkly setting and while I love it still, it never really felt like me. At  years I changed to a simple Montana sapphire set and love it more and more. No one ever really gave me any guff about it, except a few of my friends saying that it seemed much more like something I would pick out (whatever that means, lol!). Only problem I’m having with it is that my stone is light green and now I want a pink RHR, and I’m just having troble pulling the trigger in case they don’t match. My diamond never made me worry about things like that (I know, first world problems!)

I do have a diamond ring BUT it shouldn’t matter. My Future Mother-In-Law wore a blue dress when she got married and people made her feel terrible because “you’re supposed to wear white.” She got her photos photoshopped to make her dress white. I hate how mean people can be. A wedding is all about you so YOU should be able to do/get what you want and people should mind their own damn business and just be happy for you. You’re ring is not my style (I asked for a floral looking setting) but it is BEAUTIFUL!!! I agree about the color. it’s just magnificent!

Yipeebee:  I love ur new ring (loved the original too). I’m still amazed ppl flat out say stuff like that. Plus, ppl actually still think that way (an engagement ring HAS to be a diamond)???

Hi OP, I don’t think I’m qualify to answer this thread question, because I didn’t have an engagement ring, let alone a gemstone engagement ring, sigh

I only choose one ring that is the simple gold wedding band. Do I have any regret? NOPE!!… The only thing I kindda regret is I should have choose the simple silver gold band, because my husband loves silver… His necklace is silver, his watch is silver. Now his wedding ring is yellow gold, it just look soooo mismatch in color, Lol!!… I know he go with the gold so I can be happy, but I should have let him have the silver band instead.

Yipeebee, you should take a pic of your resize sapphire E-ring ring with your new flat gold wedding band… You got your blue gemstone Engagement Ring resize back yet?

i sometimes have ring regret like this but in reverse. i wanted a tanzanite or amethyst and ended up getting a diamond and i’m still almost 7 months later wondering/considering “upgrading” to a gemstone before the wedding. to me it’d be an upgrade because it’s what i originally wanted. not to mention tanzanite is more rare than diamonds but that’s topic for another day lol. end of the day i’m 100% sure i’ll end up with a tanzanite right either as a upgraded ering or a separate rhr wedding gift or an anniversary down the line to switch out with my diamond maybe on special occasions.

OP can I ask when/why you upgraded to sapphire?

No regrets here! I love my sapphire ring. It has plenty of diamonds on it though. I prefer diamonds as an accent stone rather than the main thing. Diamonds just don’t really do it for me unless they are sparkling rainbow, and most of the time they are not, so it’s nice to have some bright blue colour to gaze at 🙂

that being said, I am a major jewellery lover. I love all things jewellery. I do wonder if I would have been happier with a different colour stone, different shape, etc.

But I have literally been lusting after this ring since I was a teen. Seriously, there’s a photo of me in my bedroom at 16 with the tacori ad stuck to my wall with the exact ring I got!

And I haven’t got any comments about people disliking my ring or not considering it a real ring. It was still rather expensive despite not having a diamond centre stone.

I love my diamond e-ring, but especially now that I’m looking for my wedding band, I almost regret not getting a colored gemstone!  I love color in general, and colored stones are undeniably gorgeous.  I’m sorry you received such negative feedback on your ring.  If nothing else, it is extremely rude on the part of your friends!

It’s just so annoying bc I keep looking at your ring and mine has little “leafs” and I just want to replace those with that pretty purple! Thats actually what i asked for (a diamond center with pops of color). Maybe one day I’ll be able to convince him… He wants to upgrade the diamond at 5 years so I could probably convince him then.

I LOVE your ring! I’m sorry people were so mean about it. I have an amethyst ring and I adore it; absolutely no regrets here! I was prepared for negative reactions, but everyone I’ve shown it to has said they loved it. I’m not sure if they really did or if they were just being polite, but I love it, so I don’t really care lol.

doesn’t Kate Middleton wear Princess Diana’s sapphire engagement ring? if a gemstone is good enough for royalty…
