- Wedding: November 2012
So I really think that other than complaining about family during the wedding planning process, I should be so grateful for what my Future In-Laws just did for Fiance and I.
We have scaled back our wedding considerably, to be able to have a super budget tight wedding- but still have everyone we love around us. My family alone eats up about 2/3 of the guest list of 65 people.
We had looked for caterers, and the prices were reasonable, but still a little bit more than we were comfortable spending. Especially since Fiance is job hunting and we will be moving in August (still have no idea where yet…) So we were just going to do our own food. Small things like sweet fruit dips, an savory ones and some cake.
FI’s parents have graciously offered to give us part of our wedding gift to pay for the catering we want. They said they did not want to see us stressed out on the day of and that we should have good memories to go along with it. Not of me in my dress in the kitchen =P
This is above and beyond anything we could have asked for. Although we could probably buy most of the new furniture that we want with this money- we know that it will be worth it to not have to worry about anything the day of and that our guests will be fe 🙂
I just wanted to share with someone how blessed I feel that members of our family look out for us. Wedding planning hasn’t been all sunshine and roses, but a huge weight has been lifted.
