It’s nearly 4pm here and i have been bloated the entire day since i drank 1 medium glass of one of those nutribullet smoothies at 7:30 am this morning. The smoothie contained Kale, apple, banana, pineapple, cashews, chia seeds and goji berries. My tummy has been so uncomfortable all day and i even got asked by someone at work if i was pregnant lol. I was trying to be healthy by drinking it for breakfast but all it has done is made my tummy so sore and uncomfortable! I’ve drunk lots of water to try and stop the bloating and i had a cup of peppermint tea too but i am still bloated. Why is it doing this to me? 🙁

Fruit and nuts can cause bloating and eating instead of drinking breakfast probably coulf cause bloat. I can’t have a liquid breakfast due to IBS I was told porridge or poached eggs are a good breakfast by my doctor. what else have you eaten today. fruit is full of sugar and too much sugar even from fruit isn’t good for you. and nuts have a high fat content even though they are good fats. Smoothies have been proven to not be as healthy as people think.

katierattray: yea I think you are right a liquid breakfast doesn’t agree with me. All I had apart from that was a chicken and tabouli multigrain sandwich at lunch. I’m feeling better now just took all day to stop feeling bloated. I usually have apiece of toast for brekkie and I’m fine

I also have IBS and I try and stick to a ‘low FODMAP’ lifestyle (google it!). I agree wîth a PP that said fruit and nuts can cause bLoating. Bread is something that causes me to bloat too. All the best 🙂
