Fiance and I are HUGE baseball fans. I’ve had season tix for our local minior league team the 2 years they’ve been here, renewed for next season already.
He and I were at batting practice today, and we both kind of looked at each other and said WHY NOT HERE?
Now, this would be perfect, they offer packages for groups, where food (all you can eat buffet) and ticket to the game included, for like 20 bucks per person.
Our save the dates would be baseball cards that fit together! And our gifts would be little baseball bats and/or baseballs.
We’ve just started planning, so we aren’t to deep into it yet. I did email the owner, who I know pretty well, to bounce the idea off of him.

I think that sounds like it would be a lot of fun!

is your date actually Dec 31st? Is there baseball played at that time of year?
There are lots of baseball themed weddings out there for inspiration:

@julies1949: no i just put that in because that’s the latest I could put, we’re looking at memorial day.
Those are super cute!
The owner emailed me back already and said they have a wedding next homestand, and he’d sit down with me to figure everything out!
I’m super excited!

Go for it! Sounds like a great plan since it fits both of you.

Now to find out, if there’s a game or not that day. And if there is, how we do it.
Game that day:
Morning wedding, lunch reception, tickets to the game for everyone later?
Morning wedding, and then do everything just at the game.
No game, afternoon wedding, dinner reception.
Or keep the morning wedding, since it’ll be cooler and I’ve got a hot dress.

I think I know where you’re talking and I think that’s an EXCELLENT idea! Just make sure to include any “I’ve dreamed of this since a little girl” wedding things so that you don’t feel like you missed out by doing something so off the wall.

@EsqBailey: Funny story, I never really liked baseball, until I started going. Went to the first few games, and I’m a 3peat season ticket holder now.
Looking at baseball cards now, but Fiance is a graphic designer and he doesn’t like anything we’ve found, so he’ll probably make up his own. He wants to do like, acutally batting or something. So this might be our first argument over this stuff.

I think it’s a fabulous idea–sounds very unique to you both and something different for your guests 🙂
Showing my absolute ignorance of all things baseball, is there some sort of halftime-like break where you could get married in the middle of the game?
