I LOVE LOVE the ruffled dress. I think it would be perfect for a seaside wedding – the ruffles sorta mimic waves on the ocean. GORGEOUS!

I know how you feel about your Mom not being there – mine wasn’t there the first time and I really wanted her approval. But I think you did an excellent job! Both dresses are beautiful and I’m sure she’d agree. I just really love the first one.

First of all, I’m sure you will look beautiful in anything. However, from your comments I don’t think either of these will be your dress- at least not until your mom sees you in them. I live 7 and a half hours from my mom, so I understand wanting to try on dresses but also wanting her to be there. I’m just waiting until I can see her, and I tried on some when I visited for Christmas with her. She knows me better than anyone (except maybe my Fiance, but in different ways) and so she’ll point me in the right direction, and I get the feeling your mom will be the same with you. ๐Ÿ™‚

Meanwhile, I keep emailing my mom back and forth pics of dresses (and cakes, venues, etc) I like. Its been a ton of fun, so I suggest it for you two as well!

I like the first over the second but have you thought of just going with a simpler, floaty silk grown a la J Crew? You definitely have the body for it. You’re beautiful, hon.

I actuallly say keep shopping. I am not a fan of either of these and you are GORGEOUS! I dont want you to waste that beautifulness on either of these dresses. ๐Ÿ˜€ Dont get me wrong, you look great in both of them but they just aren’t right. And yes, they both look like they are swallowing you up! Dont be frustrated…you have the ideal body for dress shopping…enjoy it lady ๐Ÿ˜€

I really love the ruffled dress, but I may be biased.  I came down to a “whimsical” and an “elegant” as well, and went with the whimsical!

If it came down to those two, I prefer the second. I think it looks best on your shape. However, I agree with PP that maybe neither of these are “the dress.” I think for sure you can pull off this shape if you like it, but I would wait a bit, browse online some more, and then go in a little closer to your wedding. Just take a step back, ya know?

@MissPartyCat(I always forget to hit ‘reply)  I have about 5-6 dresses I really like, I like lace ones with illusion necklines or keyhole backs. My mom now thinks I need a keyhole back! I haven’t skyped, but thats because I dont have a camera on my computer. Its actually FIs old computer, because I accidentally spilt coffee on my laptop… and that was that.

My mom and me have always had a fairly close relationship, but I feel like being able to call, text, or email her with more than “Well, I’m busy with homework” has brought us so much closer together. I’ve gone from talking to her once a week to almost daily!

I don’t know if you’re finishing up school or not (thats what I’m doing) but you can always plan ahead to run home on a weekend or three day weekend to try some dresses on with her- even if you can only make it for a day because of a large homework load. Leave early 7:30/8 am, get there 11:30- have a dress appointment at noon, then lunch together, then go home. A seven hour drive split up isn’t so bad when you compare it to getting to spend this time with your mom ๐Ÿ™‚
