I have seen winter wonderland weddings in the summer, you can really have any theme (or no theme) that you want.  It just should refect who you are as a couple.

You’re doing a ski resort wedding when there will still be snow on the ground. I think your original winter wonderland theme would work just fine. You’re over-thinking it.

I think it could be cute and refreshing at that time of the year. Crocuses are a definite sign of spring and they make me happy when I see them because of what they represent to me…the end of a long winter. You could probably also bring in pussy willows if you are doing any twig/branches in your arrangements. Oh, and fiddleheads.

Spring is a new beginning- just as your marriage is a new beginning for your relationship. Having touches of winter and spring is perfect!

I just saw a My Fair Wedding where David Tutera did winter-into-spring theme.  He decorated the ceremony location like winter with fairy lights and white branches and even fake snow, and then the reception hall like spring with tons of spring flowers and light colors everywhere.  It was really sweet, though it might be a little complicated for you.  Generally I agree with the poster who said a winter theme is just fine considering the setting.
