  • Wedding: May 2015 - Siesta Key Beach

We are having our wedding in Siesta Key, FL on the beach with about 16-20 guests.

We are satying 8 days and guests are staying 7.

not really nervous about the food as the restaurant has great reviews.

our guests are all flying but we are driving (19 hours) in a SUV because we are bringing our 5 chihuahuas who will be present for the ceremony. They are our babies 🙂

we are having our reception at a lovely waterfront restaurant.

most worried about the weather holding up for the  ceremony. It is my dream to marry on the beach and i refuse to move it indoors. If it rains we will simply move it to the next day. I hope.

what I could care less about is nothing. I care about it all actually.

Cmsatx2014:  I know, right? It’s sort of like, whatever happens that day, as long as we end up married who cares about all the small stuff. I’m a total type A personality so I know I WILL worry about the little details up until the day we leave, but after that I’m on my wedding vacation, so anything goes! Haha. 🙂

How many guests will be going? Right now, we’re sitting at ~55, including myself and Fiance

How many days are they staying? Most are staying 4, some 3, and a few others 5 nights or more

Staying their for the honeymoon or moving on? Moving on!

Are you nervous about not having tasted the food or the cake? Food- not really. I’ve read hundreds of reviews on the place, and not one complaint about the food- everyone says it’s incredible. Cake- a little. I’m a stickler with my cakes!

Packing on the plane or shipping stuff to the destination? Packing and bringing on plane

Reception or Dinner only? What is the plan…. Reception w/ dinner and dancing

What are you most worried about and what could you careless about? My biggest fear is bad weather. Care less- a lot. I’m a very laid back bride, lol.

How many guests will be going?

We expect 45-60 guests but are guestamating 55.

How many days are they staying?

This depends on the person but 4-6 days.

Staying their for the honeymoon or moving on?

We are staying for our honeymoon, but sending my daughter back with my parents. We’re going to do some disney things she cant do.

Are you nervous about not having tasted the food or the cake?

No I’ve eaten a lot of food at Disney with my food allergies, and that is one of the top reasons we chose them. Out of my potential 60 guests I have 5 celiacs, 1 vegan, and 5 vegetarians.  We are doing gluten free with heavy veggie options.

Packing on the plane or shipping stuff to the destination?

We are doing both since we’re having a full wedding not a small one.

Reception or Dinner only? What is the plan….

We are having a welcome party at an upscale bowling alley plus reception after the ceremony paid by us. After the reception we will have an after party, and breakfast paid by guests.

What are you most worried about and what could you careless about?

Most worried about over booking the venue, could care less about under booking the venue ;). I know it will be fantastic. After we get past paying the minimum etc I have virtually no worries since other than the hotel and overage we will have purchased everything at that point so 90% will be paid by August 1.

How many guests will be going? 56

How many days are they staying? 56

Staying their for the honeymoon or moving on? Sort of. Staying there the rest of the week then coming home and doing a honeymoon 3 months after.

Are you nervous about not having tasted the food or the cake? Yes but I figured this is just something I have to let go unless I want to fly out which I don’t think is worth it. We got basic food which I felt was harder to mess up. If all else fails we have an open bar so drink more. Lol but I’m am obsessive researcher and so many people have said good thIngs about the food.

Packing on the plane or shipping stuff to the destination? So far I am packing and paying for an extra suit case if I end up getting to much stuff I’ll ship some

Reception or Dinner only? What is the plan…. Both! Figured if people had to travel better give them the whole thing. It’s an early wedding and going to party after.

What are you most worried about and what could you careless about?

Making sure my wedding party is going to be able to all get there on time. just wanting everyone to have fun. Making sure we get there early. Hoping that the place is what it looks like but hey all that matters is we getting married and have some good looking photos. Cmsatx2014:  I had a Destination Wedding in Mexico:

How many guests will be going? – 63

How many days are they staying? – Most guests stayed for a whole week.  The shortest stay was 5 days.

Staying their for the honeymoon or moving on? – Did not do a seperate honeymoon of any sort.

Are you nervous about not having tasted the food or the cake? – No.  We read many reviews saying that the food at the restort was great so we assumed it would be great.  It was.

Packing on the plane or shipping stuff to the destination? – Packed on the plane combined with ordering/purchasing things locally in Mexico.

Reception or Dinner only? What is the plan? – Full reception, dinner, dancing, etc.

What are you most worried about and what could you careless about? – Before the wedding (it was one year ago today!  Happy anniversary to me!) I was most worried about everyone having a good time while in Mexico and about the weather being too hot.  It’s nerve wracking to feel like you are responsible for 63 people’s hard earned vacation!  This all worked out great and people LOVED the resort we chose.  It was hot, but not a big deal when you are chilling in the pool all day.

I wasn’t really stressed about the details of the actual wedding.  I had confidence that the resort would do a good job and they did!  I was much more focused on just wanting to have a joyful day, not stressed about the flowers or details.  Everything worked out great and the resort staff exceeded my expectations.

Roatan Honduras – on the beach

How many guests – 10 including us

How many days are we staying – staying 7 nights with the wedding on the 4th day. Our guests will be staying the same amount of nights as us. Would have liked to stay an extra week but logistics got in the way.

Are you nervous about not tasting the food or cake in advance – no, not at all

Packing the plane or shipping stuff to ceromony – we have allotted one whole suitecase for wedding stuff. I am carrying on my dress as well as the groom suit.

Reception or dinner only – dinner with drinks right on the beach and a fire dancers show after.

What am i most worried about  and what could I care less about – most worried about the weather being bad. such as really windy or raining. Also I really want my guests to have the time of their lives on our wedding week vacation.   I could careless about the wedding cake.

  • Wedding: July 2015 - Bali

Where are you going?

Bali

How many guests will be going?

Anywhere from 20-40. We are inviting 100 but anticipating much less than that.

How many days are they staying?

4-7 days

Staying there for the honeymoon or moving on?

Nope. Flying to the USA for 5 weeks, including Disney World and a Carribean Cruise. Eek!

Are you nervous about not having tasted the food or the cake?

I am. Especially as we are having a buffet. I HATE buffets. They remind me of pig troughs lol. Ideally, I wanted food served ‘family style’ with a few different dishes on the table for people to try. The resort couldn’t accommodate that though. I hope it’s ok.

I’m also nervous that someone will get the dreaded ‘Bali belly’.

Packing on the plane or shipping stuff to the destination?

Plane

Reception or Dinner only? What is the plan….

Ceremony at 430, followed by cocktail hour, then dinner, DJ and fire dancers.

What are you most worried about and what could you careless about?

Most worried that fewer people will = less fun.

Couldn’t care less about flowers. Anything local will do.

How many guests will be going?

Including us, I think we will be 28-30.

How many days are they staying?

We are getting married in Punta Cana so guests will be making a full week’s trip out of it.

Staying their for the honeymoon or moving on?

After the guests have left, we will be staying at the same resort for an extra week.

Are you nervous about not having tasted the food or the cake?

A little. I do admit to being a little bit of a foodie. However we are celebrating a marriage and everything else is extra. I know someone who got married at the same resort last year and they were actually pleasantly surprised, so I’m not overly worried.

Packing on the plane or shipping stuff to the destination?

We will be bringing everything, mind you the resort takes care of most of it, so we won’t need to pack much in terms of decorations. I’m thinking of making fake bouquets for my bridesmaids because the hotel charges a lot for them (mine is included in the wedding package).

Reception or Dinner only? What is the plan….

We haven’t decided on the details yet, but dinner will be at the beach-side restaurant, the reception will be at one of the resort’s bars and then we might go to the disco later in the night.

What are you most worried about and what could you careless about?

Rain! I know it wouldn’t be the end of the world should it rain, and there is a back up plan, but it would be nice if the sun was out. I wonder that the flowers will be like, apparently they don’t always turn out like they do in pictures. Last, I’m hoping it won’t be boring/less fun seeing as we will be a small group for a wedding.

How many guests will be going? 21 We had a tentative of 40-60 but this year was really bad for a lot of people

How many days are they staying? On average 5-6

Staying their for the honeymoon or moving on? We are going for 2 weeks so 1 week with family, and 1 without for honeymoon.

Are you nervous about not having tasted the food or the cake? No, we actually could have gone down for a food tasting but decided not too. I’m very confident in Disney food so no worries there its one of the reason we chose them since many of us are on special diets.

Packing on the plane or shipping stuff to the destination? A little of both. My dress, daughter’s dress, and the tux will go on the plane. The brooches, signage, cake topper, etc are being shipped.

Reception or Dinner only? Dinner reception with fire work cake cutting

What are you most worried about and what could you careless about? I’m actually cool as a cucumber
