Have fun! I’ve done similarly crazy things – as long as you know what you’re in for and you take it easy, you’ll do great!

Check out the Galloway run/walk method if you’re looking to make your recovery easier.

I think since your body is used to running, your muscle memory will really help. You have stayed active and fit, so I think you will be okay!

I’m running a half on Sunday. I’ve been sick on and off so my training has been sub-par, but I’m hoping to finish happily and maybe even with a decent time. Plus since it is my first, I’m guaranteed to PR! haha!

Good luck!

Okay, so I’ve done this, and I made it, and in better time than I expected, like 2h34m if I remember right. So here’s the deal though. Cardiovascularly, I was A-ok, but I put my joints and bones through hell and walking was interesting for the next week.  I had no long term injuries, but it was clear that I pushed too hard. I probably should’ve walked more and eaten more on the run.

Good luck, have fun, and listen to your body.

@Robin_Sparkles:  That was my plan, but with the adrenalin, I just kept running and running and running until I hit a wall at like mile 11 and then I slowed down to like a 13 min or so mile through to the end. .Stick to your plan!!!!
