Hi Bees, I had my dream wedding last month and I recently got my pictures and saw that my hair was pretty messy in my pictures. I’m really disappointed, because I feel like I look so untempt in my pictures because of my messy hair. My hair looked good for the first hour and then I think it kind of fell apart. I had an outdoor wedding and the wind was kind of strong that day and I specifically asked my hairstylist to make sure she does my hair very tight, so it doesn’t fall apart, but it kinda did before the ceremony even started. My BMs tried to fix it, but I don’t think it was fixable. I’m so sad. I think my hair looks pretty unkempt in a lot of my pictures. What do you girls think? First picture is what it should look like (when it looked good). Second picture is 2 hours later. Now I don’t want any of my messy hair pictures in my wedding album. I really dislike messy hair.

I think it looks very high fashion model/beachy, not unkept, in the second picture. That said, I totally feel you. I had an outdoor wedding and my hairstyle didn’t hold up either. It took me years to get over myself, haha. Just remember that you’re your own worst critic and others don’t see things the way you do.

It looks great a bit windswept, especially since you were outdoors. It would have looked odd to me if every single hair was in place. Really not something I’d spend a single brain cell worrying about. Enjoy being a Mrs.!

Honestly, I think it looks beautiful and effortless.

I think it looks lovely, honestly!!!!!

Can’t you ask the photographer to edit the wisps out, in some of your favorite photos? Several of the photographers I talked to said they’d do that for no charge.

A good photo editor will be able to photoshop your hair so it appears neater, but I really don’t think your hair looks messy at all. I wore my hair half down for my wedding and wind and rain turned it into a stringy mess for all my pictures. It is disappointing, but what’s done is done. I actually had the same feeling when I saw my pictures, and had a mini panic attack about it . The back of my hair looked so messy. But a few days later I realized it’s just hair. I’m married to the love of my life now. He thought I looked beautiful, and that’s all that matters! I promise, you will get over it too!

I like the second photo hair better…

I think your hair in the second photo suits the setting of that photo perfectly! It would look odd to me if your hair was all tight and ‘perfect’.
As PPs have said, it really isn’t something that you should worry about, it looks fine a bit ‘messy’. Try not to let your hair get in the way of you enjoying your wedding photos. So many other things could have gone wrong on your day that this is a bit of a non issue.

Thanks, girls! I appreciate all your comments and compliments. Our reception was indoors, and in my cake cutting pics and others, my hair was falling into my face and sticking in multiple directions too, unfortunately. I know you ladies are right about just letting it go, but it’s just disappointing seeing my hair look like that. It looks like I rolled out of bed and drank a bottle of vodka. Haha. I talked to my photographer about photoshopping out the random hairs. He is happy to do it and seems to agree that some photoshopping would do some of the pics good.

breatheandrelax: I understand where you’re coming from. You had a certain look in mind and the pictures from later on in the day aren’t living up to that vision. I think your hairdresser could have done a better job to make sure that your style was kept more intact, even with the wind, so I would have been a little disappointed too.
Now, all that said, I think you look amazing and that your hair looks great in the second photo. If there was no text in your post, I would have assumed that was the look that you were going for and it really does give off that natural wind-swept but chic vibe. I’ve also never seen a bride with a straight back on their wedding dress and absolutely 0% back fat, so massive congratulations to you for that unbelievable feat of physics too!!
My advice would be not to confuse your disappointment with your hair not looking the way you intended with thinking your hair didn’t look good, because that is not the case here. I agree with the PP who suggested that if it really bothers you, it would be quite simple to get the extra wisps edited out of your favourite photos if you would enjoy them more that way.

I’m so sorry, looking at your photos the first time should be so exciting. If it helps I wouldn’t have even noticed if you hadn’t mentioned. Ask your photog if they can photoshop some of the photos that bug you the most?

- Wedding: July 2015 - Beautiful place.
breatheandrelax: I love your hair!!! Looks so elegant and beautiful! If it’s any consolation, my hair looked horrible! I payed 2k for “the bridal day” and by the end of our ceremony my hair looked like this .. I took my tiara off cause it just looks silly!
